Sweet

Memory Works sold out of their National Scrapbook Day specials before they hit the 48 hour mark! Luckily I got my order in that morning. I received the kit today and man, what a deal it was. It was jam packed full of yummy papers, die cuts, journaling spots, quotes, transparencies and more! Good news though, they have another kit available that is just a bit smaller than the first kit on sale for $23.99 (plus $7.45 shipping). The photos just don't do it justice. This kit is amazing. Check it out here: MME Just Too Dreamy NSD Kit Too. If your wanting one you better hurry quick as once their gone their gone! You can order it through me right through my site I linked you too (I am a Memory Works Consultant)!

He's got the touch!

The other night Maddy was fussy and I couldn't seem to get her to calm down. I handed her over Chris and in a matter of minutes she was happy as could be. It's kinda hard to see her face in this picture on the blog, but its so cute.

So it happened again last night. Maddy was fussy as all get-out and I changed her diaper, put her sleeper on, swaddled her and handed her to Chris with a bottle. This is after the bottle! So how come that never happens to me? How come she wants to fuss for a bit after her last bottle when I feed her? It's not right and not fair! haha...

More Challenges

Here is a card for the Feeling Scrappy Blog Party. They posted a sketch Thursday and here is my take on it:

This card was supposed to be for a challenge at Paper Popsicles but I wrote Happy Birthday instead of Thank You! Oops! So guess I get to make another card!

It is fairly cool outside today. I got my garage sale fix in this morning and found some great deals on clothes for Peyton. I also found a couple books for me, like I have time to read...guess I'm just collecting at the moment, hoping someday I'll have time! Peyton is having a blast following Chris around, charging the lawn mower battery, messing with the trailer and all sorts of different things. I'm so blessed that Chris is such a great dad. Peyton just loves to spend time with him.

Blog Party

I am participating in a blog party over at Feeling Scrappy . It's been fun! They posted a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

She did it!!!

Miss Madeline Marie slept through the night! WAHOO!!! I put her in her crib around 10pm and she slept til 5am! When I put her paci back in at 5, she slept til 6!

This is her favorite place to nap, in her boppy pillow on her tummy. Its so cute how she pulls her hands underneath her chin and pokes her but up in the air.

1. I’m Kayla, I live in Oregon, have a hubby of 6 years and 2 kidlets ages 3 and 3 months. I am a SAHM at the moment but keep telling hubby I am going to go back to work til the kids are in school then become a SAHM!
2. I have been crafting since I was a wee little one and scrapbooking for 15 or so years but only seriously for 5 or so years.
3. I’m a paper scrapper, I gotta be able to touch, hold and feel products.
4. I don’t get to scrap nearly as often as I want. I try to scrap a couple times a week at least for 15 minutes or so.
5. I’m a garage sale junkie.
I’m not a girly girl.
I don’t like pink.
My truck is my mommy rig.
I love to camp.

Its a gorgeous morning again! I hope to get Peyton outside for a bit even though he has a cold. Its just to nice outside to not be out there and enjoying it. I have a fun project I want to share, but need to wait til after Mother's Day to do so!

Quick & Simple

I was able to finish two more layouts last night, one for the Scrap 4 Life April crop by keeping them VERY simple. The first layout was for a challenge where you could only use one piece of patterned paper, one piece of cardstock and one picture. The multicolored piece is the backside of the center of the red paper.

Crop Challenges

This weekend there is a crop over at Scrap 4 Life. Carlane has come up with some great challenges! I somehow fit in a little bit of time here and there and was able to finish 4 of the challenges. Here are 3 of them (I really don't like how the 4th one came out):
I am not so fond of the title on the 1st Game layout, I tried to make it look like the Candy Land wording on the game. I may just have to change it.

Thank you so much Suzanne, for telling me how to do the linky thing!

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Join me for the crop this weekend at Scrap 4 life.
2. Put a little pep in your step.
3. Happiness is all around you if you open up your eyes.
4. I feel dazed and confused tonight.
5. I'm waiting for 9:30 when I can feed Maddy and go to bed.
6. Peytons smile is hard to resist.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep, tomorrow my plans include taking care of Peyton, Maddy and Peyton and Sunday, I want to scrap!

More Cosmo!

Here is a layout I finished this morning using more of the Cosmo Cricket snorkel line! I am amazed at how many layouts I am getting from the pack of paper I bought from my Memory Works store. You can see the packet here: http://mustangkayla.memory-works.com/index.mhtml?sp=1&category=product&page=product_display&product_id=2887&product_category_id=5&product_page=]
I love it when I can combine two challenges from two different sites. I used the sketch challenge at Scrap 4 Life and a Mix It Up challenge at Scrapbook Dreamer. Tammy had the mix it up challenge at Scrapbook Dreamer and it was a lot of fun. You had to choose a flower from her list and then e-mail that flower to her. She then e-mailed you a list of items that had to be on your layout! How fun is that?

A close up of the little embellies. I really like the looks of it, but am thinking that it will be to thick for my scrapbook. Oh, well, they would be fun to do on cards!

Can anyone tell me how to make a word a link to a site? For example, instead of the big ole long address to the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line, I could just rig it so that it says Cosmo Cricket Snorkel and if people clicked on those words they would be taken to that site? Make sense?

Happy Birthday Peyton!

Today my little baby boy is 3 today! I can't believe it! I don't know how we got so lucky to have such a sweet boy. As we speak he is giving me a big hug and saying 'I love you so much!'. He just gave his sister a hug and kiss and said he loved her too! Some quick facts about Peyton:

  • Favorite activities: playing cars, sticker books, play-do, sports (baseball, football, golfing, etc.). Although he doesn't get to do it a whole lot, he has really enjoyed fishing and LOVES to camp.
  • He has quite the imagination already and has started telling stories.
  • He DOES NOT like to take naps or go to bed.
  • Gives random compliments often (I like your hair, I like your blue shirt, etc).
  • Loves to gives kisses and hugs (most of the time).
  • He is the best big brother around, he just loves his baby sister.
  • When you tell him it time to go to bed, take a bath or take a nap he often says 'I better run!' and takes off for laps around the house!
  • He says 'Just a moment Mommy, I almost done, just a moment, okay?'.
  • He can put a 24 piece puzzle together faster than a 3 year old should be able too! He just loves his puzzles.
  • Favorite foods: raisins, cheerios, milk, Mema's monster cookies (thats my boy!), freeze dried fruit from Costco and jerky/pepperoni sticks. Of course he would eat as many M&M's as you'd give him or as many chips as he could!
  • He loves to be outside even if its cold and windy.
  • Not sure why, but he often asks if he can do certain things like make a mess, make noise, run, play with his cars, read books. It cracks me up!
  • He likes to sing. One of his favorite songs is his ABC's. He also likes Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Stinky Stinky Diaper Change.
I need to start writing down the things that he says as he is always coming up with something.
Here are a few pics of him at Haystack fishing with Chris a couple weekends ago. Maddy and I went out to find them, but never did. I didn't drive far enough into the campground.

Peyton really enjoyed hunting Easter eggs this year. I hid plastic eggs inside filled with m&m's or fruit snacks. He didn't really get into that. Chris hid the eggs that they decorated outside and Peyton had a blast. We definitely have an outside boy on our hands. Later on Peyton and Jazzy hunted eggs at Moms house. Peyton would run as fast as he could to the eggs he found. Poor Jazzy wasn't quite as aggressive.

I found these bunny ears and thought it would be cute to get pics of Maddy wearing them sitting in an Easter basket. I don't think she really cared for this idea!
I couldn't get Peyton to look at me for a picture. Notice the shoes. He chose them himself although I had pulled out his nicer brown shoes. At least the colors go!
Here is little Miss Madeline, smiling in her sleep.
Peyton loves his little sister, so getting him to hold her for a picture was a breeze.
Our first family shot! I am in desperate need of a hair cut, it has been almost a year! HELP!!! hahaha...
Tomorrow is a busy day for us! Peyton has his 3 year well check appt. tomorrow and then we have our family pictures, Maddy's 3 month pictures and Peyton's 3 year pictures. Cross your fingers that they will both be in good moods!

Birthday!

We celebrated Peyton's 3rd birthday Saturday. He once again, would not eat his birthday cake! lol....wouldn't even blow out his candles! He was really into opening his presents though and had a fun time. Boy was he spoiled! I have hidden away a few toys and am going to pull them out slowly over the next couple months.
He got some fun new trucks and golf clubs and this is what he chooses to play with in the backyard! lol....yep, that is a good ole plastic bag that blew into the yard! Gotta love it!
Of course, I gotta share a picture of Maddy too! One of her favorite spots is on the boppy pillow on her tummy. She is so dang cute when she pulls her hands under her chin that I had to get some pictures.

Well, I have TONS of pictures from Easter. I'll post them soon! I sure hope to get more scrappy time this week than I did last and then I'll have some scrappy pictures to share!

Busy busy busy!

We have a busy weekend ahead of us! I need to boil eggs and get them cooled so we can die them tonight. Well, Chris dies them, Peyton puts stickers on them and I take pictures!

Tomorrow we are going to an Easter egg hunt that a local church is putting on, then Peytons birthday party and then on to Corey's (hubby's little brother). Both Chris's little brothers are going to be in town. Peyton has been talking about them all week. Yep, that will be one jam packed day of fun!

Just a cute picture I got of Peyton & Chris last night. Peyton really enjoys the rough housing lately.

I got this picture of Miss Madeline this morning. Her little tongue was just going to town!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Scrap 4 Life is having a Blog Challenge. You can check it out here: http://lifeitswhywescrap.blogspot.com/. The first layout was for the BOM Challenge, a layout about siblings. Apparently I need a new photo of Josh and me as this was our most recent one and was taken three years ago!
This layout was for the April Color Challenge.

Here is a picture of Maddy and Chris that I got yesterday and really like.

Out of the mouth of babes...

To set the scene, Peyton was playing and all of a sudden came running over to me and asked if he could give baby sister hugs and kisses. Which he did then came to me and told me he loved me and gave me hugs and kisses.

Mommy: Peyton, you are so sweet. Can I eat you up?
Peyton: No I not a chicken yet.

Isn't that funny? I'm loving our little conversations and always look forward to what he's going to say next.
This would be what happens when I tell Peyton its time to change his diaper or clothes. He books it to his bedroom laughing the whole way and sits on his big stuffed turtle with the biggest grin on.

My mom found a box of Josh's and my clothes when we were babies. This is a sleeper that mom remembers putting Josh in. I LOVE it and wish I could find more. Its velvety and warm and I love the hood as it stays on where hats don't! I can't wait to put Maddy in some of the dresses that I had pictures taken in. Of course the reason I want pictures is I think it would make a fun scrapbook layout!

Wow!

Where did time go? I can't believe I haven't blogged since Tuesday! We've had a pretty good weekend. Chris took Peyton fishing at Haystack over the weekend. They had a blast. I watched Chris and Peyton leave in the old truck and Peyton just waved and waved and blew me kisses. He had the biggest grin on his face. They didn't catch anything, but it was a gorgeous day and they had a lot of fun anyway. I went out to find them but ended up driving back to town after I drove around for half an hour with no luck. Of course I forgot to send a camera with Chris but he got a couple shots on his cell phone he is going to make sure I get. Here is a picture though of the views from the campspot I want when we go out. This is really sad, especially since my Grandpa lives right close by (you can see the lake from his house) but I have never been to that campground! Yep, Saturday was the first time I had been on that side of the lake!

Off in the distance of this picture, across the lake is my Grandpas house that is well over 100 years old. My Grandpa grew up there and so did my mom!

Here is a bookmark I have been wanting to make for some time. This one was really quick and simple. I'm hoping to create a couple more soon that are a little more fun and fancy!
