Cabo San Lucas

As you can probably tell.  I am playing around with my blog looks.  Unfortunately, I am not that great at it!

I used the Salt Air line from Cosmo Cricket for this layout of the Cruise Chris and I took last February.  If you ask Chris about Cabo, his first comment will be, 'I had the best meal of my life there'.  haha!  We had to take a little shuttle boat from the ship to land. We walked along the water front hitting all the little shops and stands.  Chris found a new hat and I found a cute swimsuit cover-up dress.  We asked a local, where the best place to eat is and got directions to it (I can't remember the name right now) and off we set.  I was a little skiddish at first as it was a few blocks back in-land where you could definitely tell you were getting away from tourist areas.  It was a cute little grass ceiling building.  Chris had a stuffed lobster dish that he said was just incredible!

On to the layout.....
I loved the colors of the Salt Air line and thought they were just perfect for my layout.

I did a little layering.  The font is a Basic Grey sticker I believe.
I can't remember who the journaling spots are by, but they seemed to be just wanted I wanted in that space.

Peyton got a new bike for his birthday.  It is a tad big, but he can ride it just fine with training wheels.  He LOVES it!  We live in a great neighborhood with little traffic and those that do drive by, drive slow as on nice summer days there are tons of kids out and about.  Chris taught Peyton how to ride down the sidewalk and circle out on the street to turn around.  He thought that was dang cool.  Especially after mean ole Mommy says DO NOT go out into the street!  haha!

Last weekend was just beautiful and Peyton and  Maddy got in LOTS of bike riding.

I'm still couponing.  I hit Rite-Aid yesterday and scored all of this (3 spray suntan lotions, shaving gel, 3 boxes pop-tarts, Veet, a bottle of conditioner and a bottle of Shampoo) regularly cost is $71.90 and I paid $22.90!  I am very tempted to go back and get more suntan lotion.  That stuff is expensive and doesn't last long.

Project 12 February 2012...only a bit late!

I have had this layout done for a while.  I just haven't had time to get pictures of it and get them uploaded.
It seems I just don't have time to scrapbook these days.  :-(  I miss it!  Since I have such little scrappy time, I am keeping things SUPER simple!  This year I chose to do ALL my Project 12 layouts using the Simple Stories lines.  Most of them blend together really well and I felt that, on top of using Kraft cardstock, would make the album seem to all flow together well.

The left side:

Our weather had been cold and cloudy for quite some time.  The sun finally came to make an appearance, we took full advantage and went fishing.  I packed up some snacks while Chris loaded up the truck.  We got to the fishing spot to find out Chris didn't take the time to buy my fishing license!  Haha!  Its okay though, it was fun to be outside and watch the kids fish.  Maddy and I spent quite a bit of time in Peyton's classroom.  We all just love his teacher. She is FABULOUS!

One of the weekends in February, Chris and I were able to sneak away to Kah-Nee-Tah for the weekend. Every year the Rotary has their big fundraiser out there.  There is silent auctions, a yummy buffet, live auctions then live dancing.  We look forward to this event every year and had a blast as usual.  We got all dressed up and had a wonderful night out.  My favorite live band was playing and I danced the night away!  :-)

Chris was making some goody baskets for the local CPA's.  Such a nice guy he is and such a great idea!  I offered to help him this year.  So he brought home bags and bags of all sorts of stuff and I put together baskets.  I couldn't let them go out the door this way though.  So I made these tags to attach to them:
It is a horrible photo, the coloring and lighting is all off.  But it gives an idea of what they all looked like.  I had him write on the back and attached them with ribbon.  So much prettier with a tag on them!  :-)

Thanks for stopping by!  I have more layouts to share, so check back soon!  This time I actually saved the editing so it won't be a week before I get a chance to stop back by!

Another Catch Up Post

Man have we been busy! I think I start off with that on every post. But its true. Here are a few things that have kept us busy lately.

While browsing through a local publication, I saw an ad for a really neat property! It sounded like my dream property. I found the address and knew I had to drive out to it, even though I knew it was only a 'dream' property. We didn't find it, but we found this property.
How cool would it be to have a house up there with those views? Apparently the property I had found is only accessible by 4WD and doesn't have a legal access to it! But it is a couple hundred acres and backs up to public land that we like to hunt and camp on.

We were able to babysit our nephew.
That is him there in the middle. His name is Jaxen. He is the best dog every! So well behaved and calm! Yes, my brother and sister in law better watch out....next time I babysit I may not be so willing to give him back. He was like a third child and followed me around just like Maddy and Peyton do.

Speaking of my brother and sister in-law here they are....
Aren't they cute? I LOVE it when they come to visit. So do the kids. We always have so much fun! I wish they were a tad bit closer though, so we could more easily spend time together. They happened to be here the night before Easter. They got to experience this:
My crazy kids wanted nothing to do with regular egg dying. They wanted to fingerpaint the eggs.

The Easter Bunny brought them some new shades....Cute, if I do say so myself! :-)
We loaded up Easter morning and headed to my parents house where my mom made a delicious meal. My mom made Maddy and my nieces shirts and skirts. Aren't they cute? She also bought the boys matching shirts.

We've had our fair share of sickness in this house. The poor kids can't seem to catch a break. They will just be getting over a bug and another one comes and attacks them. It is wearing this mama out too. Especially since I seem to catch whatever they have too.
Isn't this just pitiful?

I'm not sure why the photo turned on me. Peyton's birthday was last week. The afternoon of his birthday we took off to a Fun Center that had arcade games, mini golf, bowling, etc. Peyton couldn't wait to do the mini golf. It was super cold and the rain was threatening so we headed outside to golf first.
Next came the arcade games....
And then the bowling.
We weren't sure if Maddy's balls were going to make it down the lanes or not, but each one did...eventually.
Peyton requested a Mario birthday and to have it at our house. I was late in getting it planned and didn't leave enough time to purchase any Mario party decor and have it shipped in time. I felt bad, but I think he was okay with it. Especially after getting so much play time with his cousins and scoring a ton of fun gifts!
This was the #1 thing he asked for. He asked for it numerous times and was super excited to get it.
I just love those cheeks all puffed up! His birthday went well. I just love having all the family over. Even if it is a tad loud and chaotic.
One last photo of Peyton and his Grandma reading some of his new books.

I finally made it up to my scrap space and discovered some layouts I had completed a long time ago! How could I have forgotten them? So check back soon! I actually have scrappy stuff to share!

Pretend Make-Up

Hello all! I don't know what happened, but I all of a sudden have NO crafty time! Its a sad sad thing, or at least I think it is. I feel like I haven't scrapped in months! That means not much to share! I also haven't taken pictures hardly at all! I get frustrated with my camera and put it away for long periods of time.

Last week we were invited to a birthday party. Unfortunately, we didn't end up making it to the adorable little girls birthday, but I did make a gift for her. Since it was small enough, I used scrapbook paper to wrap it up real pretty.
I used a Fiskars edge punch to make the ribbon that wrapped around it and cut a flower with my Cricut using the Flower Shoppe cartridge. I just love that cartridge!
This is what is underneath the paper. Make up! Make up for a 4 year old! :-0 What? Am I crazy? I'm sure the mom thought I was when I asked her if it was okay if I made her daughter pretend make up for her daughters birthday.
No worries though....this make 100% pretend. The inside is hard and won't rub off. Want to know the trick? My friend Karen gave me the heads up about this pretend make up and I knew instantly Maddy would love it so gave it a try. I cleaned out a cosmetic case. Okay, truth be told, I don't wear much make up. I tossed out my first ever eye shadows from 15 years ago about a year ago! :-0 And they were over three quarters full! Anyhow...I went to the dollar tree and picked up a eye shadow case. I scraped out the powder and washed it out real well and let it dry. I then took nail polish and filled the little sections til they were full and let them harden a few days. That's it! Easy peasy and Maddy LOVES hers!
While cleaning up today I found a few layouts! I think they are from January...but hey, its something new to share. So check back soon! I'm working on Peyton's birthday right now. But I hope to find time to edit the photos of the layouts to share with y'all!

Snow and Weekend

Hello all! It has been a while! I can't believe how busy I have been. It is crazy how much extra time sick kiddos take. And then there is the the time it takes to catch up after being sick yourself. I am struggling to figure out how to make time for myself these days. :-(

I completed this layout a while back. I think I used a sketch, but cannot remember. I am attempting to use up my stash. More by force than choice. Haha! But it is all good. I pulled out some fun Cosmo Cricket and created this layout. :-)
With my limited crafty scrappy time I decided to group all the winters snow pictures together for one two page layout.
A close up of the left side. I picked up the fun felt snowflake by Stampin Up at a garage sale for cheap cheap.
And the right side.

Last week was the kids spring break. We decided to go camping the tail end of the week. Some of our friends that had two little girls around the age of ours came with us. We took off, only to learn that the roads we camp off of do not open til May! We like to camp off in the nearby mountains. No pavement, no 'official' spots, just good ole dirt and trees! We ended up camping in a 'parking lot' for better terms. It was a graveled parking area near a camp ground and hiking trail. It rained at least 50% of the time we were out camping! And it was pretty darn cool. We were all in snow pants or insulated overalls all weekend.
There was a creek nearby. The kids had a blast throwing rocks in t. By the second night, the water was well above where they were standing in the picture due to all the rain that we were getting.
Maddy got a little tuckered out! I opened the door to check on her and this is what I found! She fell asleep around 6 and didn't wake up til 7:30 the next morning!
Apparently the fresh air and fun wore her out two nights in a row!
So what do you do when it rains a lot? You hang out under the awnings and blow bubbles.
When it stops raining you take advantage and go for a hike. Unfortunately the hiking trail we wanted was quite a ways down this road that just so happened to be closed. But we had fun hiking up that road.

We also walked past the closed gate to a campground. This is a shot from one of the camp spots.
Our friends brought a 4-wheeler Chris was able to take the kids out for a ride. They had a blast! The photo looks photo shopped but isn't. I am still struggling with my little point and shoot trying to figure out how to get it to work right. Add ImageAnd the final day. We decided to pack up a day early and head in. I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo, but it started to snow. We'd had 3 days of fun and were ready to head home and have a little extra time to unpack, clean and relax.

I'd love to say that I have more to share, but sadly, I don't. I'm not sure when I will get to scrap again. :-( Thanks for coming by and please do check back!
