Faves from 2009

I saw on someone elses blog where they posted some of their favorite layouts and projects from this year. I thought it was a great idea and started looking at some of my layouts from this year. Wow...I am definitely much happier with my more recent layouts. I'm afraid to look back at my 2008 layouts! haha! So here are some of my favorites from the year. Warning, this is a picture heavy post!

This was a Design Team project for Creative Cuts & More.

I just love the Early Bird line from Cosmo Cricket. This is a magnetic board.

Love this Bo Bunny line too! This is from a Citrus Tree Kit.

The cute little cowboy came from Paper Popsicles.

I used a sketch from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I think this is one of my all time fave layouts.

Another one of my all time faves.

I used a sketch for this card, but don't remember where from. I think maybe 2 Sketches 4 You.

I love the The Mr. Campy line from Cosmo Cricket. Its perfect for all my camping and fishing layouts. I just love the title!

I came up with this fun little magnet idea. I used a business card sized magnet I got in the mail and altered it into this fun little notepad. The flower makes a great pencil holder.

I used mostly Crate Paper on this layout!

This one brings back so many memories from Maddy's stay in the NICU.

I loved this line by Kaiser Craft (although I can't remember what its called at the moment).

Yet another Cosmo Cricket layout, super simple, but fun!

I came across a waterfall card tutorial somewhere in blogland and made them for Mother's Day Cards.

Yet another Cosmo Cricket Layout (can you see that I LOVE me some Cosmo Cricket?). This was a sketch challenge at Paper Popsicles.
This was such a fun layout! Its kinda wild, but I like it!
If you made it all the way through, kudos to you! haha! I also made some mini albums that I am pretty fond of. Since they are picture heavy I've created links to them. Christmas Tree Album, Cosmo Cricket Recipe Album (Kit from Creative Cuts & More), Madeline Mini Album (album from Creative Cuts & More), Crate Paper Mini and my Thankful Mini (Album and many die cuts from Creative Cuts and More).
Have you taken a look back at your projects from this year? If not you should, its kinda fun!
Happy New Year!

Here is layout I did right before Christmas for my Mother-In-Law. This is my brother-in-law and his super sweet super cute girlfriend who we all just love. Aren't they cute? I love my Cosmo Cricket Chipboard. Its so much fun! Those little alphas, I'm running out! Ack...That will be a crisis when I do! I'm completely addicted to those and journaling spots.
I have a little sneak peek for Scrap A Little. She will be posting her first DT reveal soon. I had so much fun with this first challenge!

I am over the top excited. One of my best scrapping friends is coming over to scrap for the day! Cross your fingers that the kids cooperate and allow me to get lots of scrapping done! I can't wait! Hopefully I will have lots to share after today!

11 Months

I can't believe Miss Madeline Marie is 11 months already! wow...I can believe, however, that I missed getting her picture on the 26th! A day or two really doesn't make a whole lot of difference though.

  • Weighs 24 pounds
  • Is crawling up a storm.
  • Trying REALLY hard to pull herself up.
  • Is climbing already (I'm scared, very very scared).
  • If I leave her in the living room and go to the bathroom I hear her talking and crawling to find me.
  • She is quite vocal.
  • She really likes to play with whatever Peyton is playing with (surprise, surprise)
  • She likes watching Sedona and I swear she tried to say Sedona the other day
  • She travels pretty well and doesn't seem to mind her carseat.
  • She still LOVES food. I can't feed her and then eat dinner. She gets quite upset. I have to give her some puffs even though she just ate.

Lots of Pictures

I don't have any projects to share today, but have some photos from our Christmas. Unfortunately and sadly, my Grandfather passed away on Christmas Day. He was 97 years old! I am so grateful that I was able to go out and spend some time with him and the rest of the family and that I was able to tell him goodbye.

Poor Maddy, she looked so darn cute in her dress, but when she is just learning how to crawl, the dress made it SO hard on her. Christmas night I stripped her down to her diaper and let her play for quite a while. She loved it!

Peyton was definitely into gifts this year. There wasn't a pause between gifts either. He made out quite well and is still LOVING all his new toys. Look...he has pants on! ;)
We were able to spend a lot of time with family. Here is my mom and niece with Peyton and Maddy.
Here is Chris's side of the family, his parents and brothers.
And of course, what would Christmas be without a little of this...
Yep....gotta love the meltdowns!
I have lots more pictures to share as well as some fun projects so check back soon!

Frosty Visits adn Cosmo Circket Layout

Remember I said I have been doing quick and simple layouts? Well, here is more proof. I'm in LOVE with the Early Bird Cosmo Cricket line. Shh...don't tell Chris though. :) It doesn't show up in the picture very well, but I did some machine sewing on this layout. I've become completely addicted to sewing on layouts lately.

Quick side note...I can't wait for Christmas. We bought Peyton a little digital camera. Hopefully he will now leave mine alone and I can get mine back to normal. It has been taking horrible pictures and I think he h as messed with the settings somehow.

Peyton LOVES to be outside, especially if Chris is outside. He got really exited this summer about mowing the lawn. Chris can't wait til he is old enough to push the real lawn mower. I'm sure by the time he is old enough to mow the lawn he won't be interested at all! Peyton calls the riding lawn mower a 'tractor' and likes to help drive it too. Mean ole mom that I am, I make him wear a helmet when he's on it!

Frosty made its (still don't know whether to call it a he or a she) yearly visit! Maddy wasn't so sure what to think and definitely did not like Frosty holding her.
Isn't that just the saddest face ever? haha!
Peyton was all excited about Frosty coming, til Frosty actually came. This picture cracks me up. Peyton was trying to escape from Frosty!
Santa is scheduled to visit us tonight! I'm curious to see how he responds to Santa.

I have a few more projects to share, but they are for DT, so y'all will just have to wait and see! If I don't get back on tomorrow or the next day, I hope you all have a safe, blessed and Merry Christmas!

New layouts!

Okay, I'm getting quite frustrated with not being able to upload all the pictures I want too. lol...I even shrink them down and it still doesn't work. Ugh...

I have been scrapbooking a tiny tiny bit. Since I don't have much time to, I've been keeping my layouts super simple.

I journaled on the back of this layout. He is such a goofball sometimes. Here he is sitting in his sisters bumbo seat and stuck in the coffee table.

I figured the papers were so busy that I didn't need a whole lot for this one. Peyton got a really cool real golf set from his Grandpa and Grandma GG's for his 3rd birthday. It looked a lot like Chris's set. After a while of playing in the backyard with Chris, I looked out the window to find him playing with a grocery bag that had blown into the back yard! lol...Isn't that typical for a little kid? This kid has a swing. We took away his inside plastic golf clubs at around 2 1/2 as he was hitting the ball so hard it would bounce off of three walls!

Christmas Ornaments

We have a tradition at our house. Every year the kids both get new ornaments. I write the year on the ornament and if room, their name. I didn't let Peyton pick out his ornament back in October when the Christmas merchandise first started appearing in stores. Well, I should have as when we finally made it to a store last weekend, the Disney Cars ones were all gone! I searched on Ebay to see what I could find and came across one he REALLY likes. BUT, I refused to pay $12 for it and decided to a make it.
Chris actually did most of it. He went and bought a Lightning McQueen diecast car and a little screw hook. He screwed a tiny hole in the top and twisted the little hook eye in. I tied a ribbon on it and wrote the date on the spoiler. Peyton was SSSOOOO excited. This is him hauling the car to the tree. lol....
Here he is showing me the ornament. Yes, once again in underwear, I still can't get him to wear pants inside or smile normally.

Here is the ornament. If Peyton is still into cars next year I think it would be a lot of fun to buy him his own tree and create a bunch of these.

Remember my story about Maddy and my Cosmo Cricket? Well I got pictures of her getting into it. The little stinker even figured out how to open my scrapbook curio. She rolls over to it, kicks it and pops the door open!
She's thinking, "I wonder if Mommy is paying any attention...that is pretty cute Cosmo Cricket....I know its Mommy's favorite...should I or shouldn't I?"
I have a couple layouts to share tomorrow!

Acetate Cake Gift

I have a really fun project to share today. I got these really cute Acetate Cake Slice boxes from Creative Cuts & More. I found a cute tree, presents and plate at the dollar tree. This is what I created:
I used Killer Red Tacky Tape to adhere the boxes together.

I can't wait to make more of these for different occasions. They were so much fun and really quick and easy too!
I am so excited that I now have all my gifts made, bought and wrapped! Well, other than the 3 I am still waiting to be delivered. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they arrive before Christmas!
Tomorrow my mom is taking Peyton and his cousin to see The Princess and the Frog. He can barely contain his excitement! His other Grandparents took him to see it last weekend and he really enjoyed it and spending most of his day with them.
I have some cute pictures and a fun ornament to share, so check back soon!

Quick Project

Is anyone else having issues uploading pictures to their blogger? I'm having the hardest time!

Anywho, here is a quick project, and when I mean quick, I mean 10 minutes quick. I saw this cute notepad at the dollar tree.

My mom always has a little notepad in her car, so I thought I'd froof it up a bit and give it to her for Christmas.

I found a really cute crochet flower clip at a bazaar this year and thought it would be cute on this santa hat. Peyton wore this had during his first Christmas too. It's so cute!

First Snow

We got our first snow a while back. Peyton was over the top excited and kept asking Chris if he could go sledding. It was the powder snow that just blew away thanks to the sub 0 degree weather. I bundled him up in his snow suite and adorable hat and let him go outside for a short bit to play.

The black scallop circle, snowflakes, and tacky tape scalloped circle frame came from Creative Cuts & More. This was my first go round at playing with a tacky tape die cut. Can you say 'hooked'? It was so much fun. I took some step by step pictures so you can get a better idea. First off this is a double sided sticky shape.
First, peel off the brown layer. Sprinkle flock or glitter (both available at CC&M).

Here is what it looks like. Then all you need to do is peel off the back and stick it where you want it! How fun and easy is that?
