Hello all!  Long time, no see!  ;)  Life has kept me super busy and scrapping is out of the picture these days. I did sneak off with my mom for a weekend retreat at a nearby resort (laughing...as this place does not feel like a resort...but I do love it and it makes a great little getaway).  Here are a few layouts I made there as well as some I found hidden on my computer.

Most of these layouts are based off of sketches...most off of my Pinterest board.

We took a weekend trip two years ago to Hood River to visit my brother and sister in-law.  These are pictures from that trip.  I think the paper is Basic Grey, the rub-on's are old and from my stash as is the chipboard corners I inked.

I admit, I have used this sketch before...I think the layout is even below. It is such a great sketch.  The papers are MME.

WCMF stands for Willamette Country Music Festival.  SUCH a fun event!  I used my Simple Stories goodies on this one.  The swirl clip is holding the list of artists singing as well as a few other memorabilia.

A super simple double page layout from Peyton's Kindergarten year.  I think this is a Carta Bella line.

We went  camping with some friends last summer.  It was so much fun!  I used a couple Echo Park scraps of papers and everything was bits and pieces from my stash.

My favorites camp spot....Mill Creek Camp.  Its a great little camp spot with no other campsite around it.  It wasn't too far from our old house.  I'm thinking papers and button were from October afternoon, maybe a piece of Cosmo Cricket in there.

Another super simpler double pager from Peyton's Kinder year.

This picture was taken two years ago at a Beavers VS Huskies game.  Chelle and I met on a scrapbook forum and chatted for a while.  We were lucky enough to meet at a college football game.  I *almost* didn't go due to weather and horrible bad roads.  Talking a 3 hour drive turned super long due to driving 25 MPH due to ice covered snowy mountain passes.  But I'm so glad I went and was able to meet up with Chelle!

Chris coached Peyton's t-ball team last year.  They were the River Cats.  I am embarrassed to admit that these paper are at least 4 years old!  :-0  If not more!  Yep, I'm working hard at using up my stash.

This layout is a sad lift of my super talented friend Karen.  I loved how she used three of the same photo.  Such a neat affect.  This is the same line as above...super old and not even sure the company is in business anymore.

This layout is tidbits from my hubbies family reunion.  How I love his family!  I look forward to the campout every.single.year!  Yes, yes I do.  We have so much fun!  I was horrible this year, capturing photos, but this year I hope to be better.

A double pager of the Jefferson County Fair.  We met up with my mom who brought my nephew and niece. The kids had a blast.  Pony rides, carnival rides, popsicles.  My pocket and my mom's pocket didn't have quite as much fun. ;)

I just love these pictures of the kiddos.  I can vividly remember how excited Maddy would be when we went inside and waited to pick up Peyton.  Even the last month of school, she'd be super excited to see him. She also enjoyed watching him in gymnastics.

Walton Lake...one of our favorite places to camp and fish.  These pictures are really old.  Where does time go?

Back when I had my act together and was doing Project 12....June 2012 (my last month I think).

This picture cracked me up.   The looked so much alike.  From how they were laying to both having red tops and blue bottoms on.

Yes...I did use this sketch before and even on a layout in this same post!  :-0  But, I do love it, may even use it again!  haha!  I just love these pictures of Maddy.  She caught Chris napping on the couch and went to join him.  Kitty (her stuffed dolphin) and all!
I didn't put my finished layout away quick enough.  Maddy decided it needed a little more *umph* and took my scissors to it.

I'm not sure if I have shared this layout yet or not, but it is of Peyton's first dentist appt.  The dentist printed out the x-rays for me.  I was so excited!   haha!

That is it for now and probably for a while!  Hope every has a wonderful summer!

More Layouts

I'm trying to catch up all the layouts I had piled up before our move.  I have gone to the simple and quick layouts.  Although I usually end up staring at them for WAY to long trying to figure out how to add pizazz to it before giving up.  haha!

My kids LOVE to play in this little pool at my parents house.  They are too big for it, but still enjoy it.

I loved these photos of Maddy and my Dad.  He had layed down for a nap and she went and grabbed her blankies to put on him and told everyone to be quiet.

Some of my favorite photos from summer.  The kids LOVED helping my dad in the garden.  Especially if it meant digging potatoes.  They also had fun at the fair and poor miss Maddy was so sad that she wasn't big enough to ride the roller coaster with Peyton.  And one of my fave photos of Peyton and Maddy I took at the library during their summer reading program.  Maddy was hugging on Peyton for something.

Our local photo shop asked if I could create a few 'layout' photos on their system and incorporate them into a bigger layout.  This is one of the layouts I created for them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Layouts and Pictures

Hello all!  Hopefully I will be back to blogging more often.  We are sort of getting settled.  We have quite a few projects in line for the next few weeks though.  Painting and a garden are two of the biggest!

I had a handful of layouts I don't think I've shared.  Of course, by now, I have forget the sketch I used.  I'm guessing it is on my Pinterest board somewhere.

I just love the fun papers, banners and journaling spots as well as colors in this Pretty Little Studio line.  Just perfect for birthdays.  See the bottom picture?  That is Chris's cousins daughter.  Her and Maddy look like they are sisters!

I REALLY wish I would have been as smart as Karen and take a screen shot, but alas, I'm not.   Karen and I met on a scrappy board and had been e-mailing for each other for quite some time.  This was our first time Skyping.

Below is a layout I made of my sister-in-law's bachelorette party!  It was the first time I had been out without Chris or the kids in quite some time!  We hit Downtown Portland a few nights before the wedding.

Now on to some photos.  We bought Peyton a bed set.  Poor kid had his mattresses on the floor!  Chris was putting it together and wouldn't ya know it....Jenabelle wanted to help!  Can you see her in his lap under his arm?  haha!  Love that little pups!
She likes to walk in the window sills for some reason.
Maddy and Peyton are sure taken with her and often ask if they can hold her and snuggle with her.
We celebrated Peyton's birthday two weekends ago.  It was fun to have all the family over to our new house.  Peyton was spoiled and enjoyed his day. He wore that hat all day long!
Peyton started soccer. Maddy was quite disappointed she couldn't play, but she isn't quite old enough.  But if you ask me, she could have easily played with all the kindergartners   She is just as big as them and not afraid to jump into a group and do something.
And the spoiled pups.  This has become a nightly activity.  She pesters you til you hold her.

Argh....I uploaded the last two photos just like I did the others.  Why are they showing up so big?

My Creative Sketch Challenge

My friend Izzy posted about a sketch challenge My Creative Sketches was having.  I followed the link and really liked the sketch.

I have been keeping my layouts super simple.  I just don't have time these days to get much scrapbooking done and keeping it simple seems to work much better for me.  Here is my layout using Echo Park papers and sticker and Doodlebug alpha stickers.

Thank you for stopping by!

Finally...some layouts to share!

Anyone still stopping by?  I know it has been a long time since I've posted anything crafty or scrappy.

I've kind of reverted.  I'm keeping layouts super simple and not worrying about making them spectacular.

This is actually a layout I had done a few months ago, just never got around to taking a picture and uploading it.  I just love Jillibean Soup!  Love their sheet of die cuts and how easy they make it to do embellishment clusters.  I used a sketch from PageMaps for this layout.
I am so thankful to have Chris's grandparents (GG's) in our lives. My kids love spending time with them!  Sadly, I am not very good at getting pictures of the kiddos with them, so when I do they are treasured.

Next up is a layout I made using from Elle's Studio.  I want to go back and add machine stitching around the banner, but haven't taken the time to pull out my sewing machine.  This was fun cause I used a bunch of little scraps I had been saving.
These two crack me up!  They make me laugh every single day.  On this particular day, Peyton was pushing Maddy around in the laundry basket.

I think I used a sketch for this one too, but can't remember!  :-S  Peyton was pretty surprised when I told him to run through the sprinklers with his clothes and shoes on.  He thought that was pretty darn cool!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

A couple layouts and a furniture make-over

Pardon the bad coloring in this picture.  My phone takes the clearest pictures but struggles with lighting.  A few weekends ago Birds of a Feather had a Back to School Crop.  I was able to complete a few challenges.  One challenge was title 'old school'.  These photos were 2 years old and the papers are easily that old or even older (I'm thinking around 5 or 6 years old).  I just loved that Basic Grey Christmas line though, so pretty!  I used a sketch, and will be back soon to give credit to the person who drew the sketch.
Next up is my take on the challenge to use your school colors.  It is pretty sad that after a few tail-gating experiences I have but a couple photos.  I think it is because it was my first time experiencing that and I was soaking it all in.  I had fun with this layout.  Again, super simple, but that is my style lately!

Maddy has collected quite a few princess dress up dresses.  They had been in a treasure box, but we ran out of room.  So I taped a box together, cut one side off and then two holes and put a wrapping paper tub through the holes to create her a place to hang her dresses.
Then a friend of mine was moving and getting rid of an entertainment center.  I thought to myself, that would be a great piece of furniture to get.  I could get rid of the storage piece Maddy had in her room that just wasn't working and alter this entertainment center to put in its place.  Here is the entertainment center:
And I turned it into this:
I didn't take the time to pick up her room and make it all organized and pretty.  Sorry....  I put a little bar at the top of the larger section and she is now able to hang all of her dresses up there and keep all the other dress up things (shoes, wants, tiara's, etc) in the trunk (in the bottom right cubby).

Thank you Janelle!  I love it and so does Maddy!

Project 12 June using Simple Stories.

I am still continuing to create a layout for every month, trying to recap that months events.  Project 12 is not going anymore, but I am continuing on with it as I like it so much!  I have pinned numerous two pagers on Pinterest to help inspire me.

Birds of a Feather posted a fantastic two page sketch for their sketch challenge this month.  I knew instantly that I wanted to use it for a Project 12 layout.  Here is June's layout.

I continue to use Kraft as the base and Simple Stories papers.
My kids were in heavy jackets for a parade in June!  :-0
And then a few days later shorts and sundresses!  Haha!

June was a busy month for us.  We kicked it off with the school carnival.  I volunteered at the event and GG's (Great Grandparents) came and took the kids to the carnival.  Chris and Peyton finished up their t-ball season.  Chris enjoyed coaching and Peyton really enjoyed playing.  We (the kids and I) spent a lot of time in Peyton's classroom the last few weeks of school and even after school was out.  Peyton's teacher moved out of state.  :-(  So we helped her pack up her room.  The Crooked River Round Up (rodeo and horse races) was kicked off with a parade.  Maddy was so cute waving at all the princesses and queens as they rode by.  It was a mix of weather and we tried to get outside when the sun shown.  We had a big down pour one afternoon and I sent the kids out to play in it!  They had a TON of fun and thought it was really cool to be able to play in the rain like that!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope your week is off to a good start!

Silly layout using Cosmo Cricket Social Club and Toddler layout

I finally got to scrap a little bit last week!  Yahoo!  I found a stack of layouts that I don't think I've share yet too!

This first one I can't remember if I shared yet or not.  So my apologies if I already have.  I had held onto these pictures for sometime thinking I'd do something creative with mustaches.  But alas...no fun ideas came about so I decided to get them scrapped.  I used the Salt Air line by Cosmo Cricket.  I'm pretty sure I used a sketch, but it was so long ago, can't remember and can't find it.  I need to start writing down the sketch I used on the back of the sketch.  I WILL start writing down the sketch I used on the back of the layout.

I layered a few tab stickers to create a journaling spot.

I think I say this every time, but my photos are horrible!  I have asked around about cameras and get 100 different answers and I just get that much more confused!  Haha!  I even bought one like a friend had, same exact one and still had horrible pictures.  I'm starting to guess it is user error!  haha!

I used a sketch by Gloria Rogers for this next layout.  I had a handful of pictures of Maddy being silly that I wanted to scrap.  But with my lack of time to do so, didn't want to create 6 different layouts.  So I put them all together into one layout.  And a simple one at that.
In the pictures below, Maddy had just discovered the fun of dress up princess shoes and would wear them all over the house (funny side note, she put them on last night to go help us pick veggies out of the garden.  haha!).  She also started helping me clean.  She liked to wipe down glass and dust.  She is quite happy and content being naked, so I often found her stripped down to her diaper.  One day, actually a handful of days, she walked out in her diaper and snow boots stating she was ready to go outside and play in the snow!
These ones really crack me up.  We had problems with Maddy stripping at night, even taking off her diaper, then crying in the middle of the night cause she was cold or wet and cold.  So I started putting on her footed sleepers backwards.  Worked like a charm!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Peyton turns 5!

Wow...I don't even know where to start!  I started this post a month ago!  :-0  Yikes...time goes by quickly!  My life went into a tail spin a month or two back.  But it is a good tail spin!

A quick scrapbook share:

I wish I could tell you what sketch I used.  But I am at a loss.  It has been WWWAAAYYYY to long.  I have had this pack of 8x8 papers from Pretty Little Studio for a while, just itching to be used.
I am still on a banner kick.  Is that out of scrapbook fashion now?  It has been son long, I'm not sure whats 'in' and whats not.
The banner pieces were printed on a piece of cardstock, I just had to cut them out.  So nice to not have to free hand them.
One big blooper in the above photo....Peyton was turning 5 not 3!  *gasp*  I have fixed the layout, but didn't retake photos.  Not sure what made me put 3 on there.  It couldn't have been the gazillion and one interruptions I got while working on the layout could it?

Other things that went on during the time I originally started this layout...

We listed our house for sale.  I like our house and LOVE our neighborhood and neighbors.  BUT...our lot is tiny.  It is just not big enough us and all our 'stuff' and toys.  We aren't able to park our camp trailer on our lot which is a HUGE thing to us.  So, I have been spending a TON more time keeping the house as clean as I possibly can.  We have also been doing a little driving, checking out possible new houses.

Check out the views of this one:
Alas...it is not in the running.  But the views were killer!

We took a day drive out to a nearby reservoir.  The kids LOVED it!  Thank goodness Chris is a good Daddy and got in the water with them.  It was murky the first few feet and there was lots of seaweed and I just couldn't bring myself to get in.  Please tell me there are other people out there like me?  That don't like to step on seaweed and get creeped out by murky water.
I was shocked that on numerous days Maddy took a nap.  Sometimes I caught her like this:
Sometimes she took a nap in her bed.

Before heading to the reservoir we had to finish up touch up painting on one side of the house.  I had to go back inside after I walked out and saw both kids with cups of paint and paint brushes!  :-0  I have to admit though, they didn't do too bad!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I can get another post up soon of more recent pictures and more layouts!  I have both, just need to upload and edit them!
