Paper Poppy Kit Co. November Sketch Challenge

I was so sad to find out that Aphra will no longer be making Paper Poppy Kits. :-( Although I wasn't able to purchase but a kit or two from her I LOVED her kits and was looking forward to the day that I could start ordering scrappy supplies again! Make sure to head over to her store and grab the fabulous kits while you can! I am itching to get my hands on her October kit.

Aphra posted her November Sketch challenge last week! I LOVED her sketch and knew I had to participate. This is my take on Aphra's sketch using her June kit, if I remember correctly (which I HIGHLY recommend).
The cardstock, Maya Road Journaling Spot, black glitter alphas, Adornit mini alphas and rhinestones were from my stash.
I had a Quickutz ladybug die that I used for Maddy's thank yous. I covered the red part in Stickles. I have always loved the mixed alpha titles and thought it perfect for this layout.
I love bling, and the frames that are included in the kit are so fun! I found a little flower bling in my stash to add to the circle.
I cut the corner of the transparency included in the kit and adhered it to a piece of white cardstock.

There is still time to play along if you'd like to try out Aphras fantastic sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wahoo, Clip and Update

How is that for a title? haha! First off, I was excited to visit the Paper Variety Blog this morning and find this:
I have been busy working on Christmas Bazaar projects. I found these really cute large (they stand about 6" tall) colored clear clothespins with magnets on the back. I used a fabulous Paper Poppy Kit on this one (the pins and alphas were mine though).
Thank you for all the well wishes. Our trip went pretty well. We found OHSU/Dorbecker fairly easy (I was worried about this as we aren't used to freeways and tons of one-way streets). We only got honked at once. Apparently the bus driver didn't like us being in his 'bus only' lane! lol...We really liked the doctor and Maddy seemed to like her too. We are still trying to figure out the root cause. But til then we have found out she has fissures. We have a game plan to get those taken care of (which I am NOT looking forward too). While there Maddy had some blood drawn and had to go through a sweat test. Poor girl was traumatized by the blood being drawn. We made the mistake of doing that first (we didn't realize what the sweat test endured). So when it came to the sweat test Maddy screamed with all her might through the majority of the hour long process. Poor Peyton just sat in the chair and plugged his ears the first 15 min. or so. Then asked if we could go wait in the car. :-( We are waiting to hear back on a few tests.

We headed to the Oregon Coast after the appointment Man, what a nice weekend we had. The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun! I got lots of pictures to share! We learned on the way home, poor Miss Maddy got car sick. She threw up big time about an hour away from home. :-(

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to get more pictures of my projects to share with you soon!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. September Challenge

Paper Poppy posted their September challenge a while ago. It was a sketch, but not only was it the sketch, they challenged you to use three different edges. Here is my take on the challenge:
I love the pleated look, so much fun! I hadn't done i t in a while so thought this the perfect time to do it again.
The colors don't look right, I'm not sure if its due to little hands adjusting the settings on my camera or just bad lighting.
I thought I'd share a few pictures that give you a glimpse into my every day life. Here Peyton walked into the family room and asked if I wanted to play baseball with him. haha! He's got a medal around his neck and safari hat on and he's ready!
Here the Little Miss just got out of a bath. She came a streakin' in the living room as fast as her little legs would take her just a giggling all the way. She ran right to the bouncy horse and hopped on!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. August Sketch

The August Sketch Challenge had been posted at Paper Poppy Kit Co. I had a lot of fun creating this layout using the June Paper Poppy kit.

My sister-in-law took this picture at a get-together at the beginning of summer. I thought it was so so so cute! This is the Little Miss and her great grandparents.

I looked for a neat quote and found this one. Grandparents are the footsteps to the future generations. I thought it just perfect and had a great key word for a title for this photo.
The Adornit alpha stickers are the only thing not from the kit. I outlined the flowers to make them stand out a little more. The layout is missing something but I can't think of what else to do. I'm happy with how it looks, but still feel like I could add something. So I'm calling it good for now. :-)
I have been super busy the past 7 days. I have totally neglected my blog. I have a few layouts and a ton of pictures to share so I hope you'll stop back by soon!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. July Circle Challenge Layout

I received a FABULOUS kit in the mail last week. It was the June kit from Paper Poppy Kit Co. Wow....pictures on line do not to it justice. I got so much product and the papers...oh the papers and ribbon and buttons and chipboard....oh man...I'm LOVING it!

They also have a challenge going on right now to use circles. Well, I've fallen in love with these circle flowers. Here is my layout:
I couldn't seem to get a good picture, no matter where I took the picture the lighting just wasn't' right.
Since I'm always short on scrapbooking time I was also able to use this layout for a sketch challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. July Sketch Challenge

Frances Sylvia created a great sketch from Paper Poppy Kit Co. this month. I was able to score a few minutes here and there to complete the layout.
Apparently I need more than a few minutes here and there. IRL, that black cardstock is a deep deep brown! Yeppers, thanks to bad lighting I didn't notice til I sat down today and had the majority of it done. I think new lighting is quickly making its way to the top of my 'need' list! Looking at it now there is lots of little tweeking I would do. Thats what I get for adhering as I go I guess!
We have had some nice days recently. Since we have new sod, I don't want to pull out the bigger pools...okay, at the date these were taken I was too lazy to pull out their bigger pool. But I remembered I had Peytons baby blow up bath and thought it would be perfect. The neighbors just so happened to be having a get together the first time I pulled it out and thought it quite humorous to see a 4 year old in this little bath! :-D I later pulled out his slip n slide which he has been loving.

Thanks for stopping by! If I disappear for a few days its because my BIL is getting married this weekend and I'll be busy with all the chaos that surrounds weddings!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. Sketch Challenge

Can you believe it? A second layout in one day? Yep, I even surprised myself. So I lifted Aphra on the first layout and am using one of her sketches on the second. If you read this Aphra...I'm not a stalker...I promise. :-) I just LOVE your blogs and work!
Have you checked out Aphras fabulous Paper Poppy Kit Co kits? If not, make sure you do! Anywho...the above sketch is by Aphra and its posted on the Paper Poppy Kit Co. blog for this months sketch challenge.
This is my take on it. I had a lot of pictures I wanted to use, I wish I would have printed them smaller, but I can't seem to get my printer to work and I had these. I used Imaginisce goodies that I won on their blog. Let me tell you, it wasn't just a few papers, I got the WHOLE line, all the stamps, rub-ons, stickers, embellies, etc. Yeppers...its such a fun line! THANK YOU Imaginisce!

Just a little close up of the chipboard and puffy stickers.

I'm hoping to get more scrappy time soon! I've been working on my scrappy space and hope to show pictures of that soon too!

New Challenge Blog and Paper Poppy Kit Co

Christina from Scrap It With A Song stopped by my blog. I had to check it out as I love a good challenge blog AND I love using music as inspiration. I also frequent the Paper Poppy Kit Co. blog. They currently have a challenge up to scrap lift a layout from their gallery! Easy as that! So here is the layout I chose to lift created by Aphra...
And here is my take on the layout! I used some of the song lyrics from Scrap It With A Son for help with inspiration. I swear the word 'fan' looks good in real life, it looks like the color is totally off in the pictures.
A little close up of the flower I made using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. The flourish is a Revolution die cut. I've been dying to use this flower I found in a pack of three at the Dollar Tree.
There you have it! If you haven't checked out Scrap It With Song or Paper Poppy Kit Co., what are you waiting for?

Lack of layouts!

I haven't had much time to scrapbook lately! I'm not liking it either! haha!

I do have a layout I completed quite a while ago for a challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio. It was an Ad challenge. Here is my take on the ad:
I had fun putting this cluster of goodies together. The cute Jenni Bowlin heart journaling spot was given to me by the ever so sweet and talented Patti!
You know how you have some of those layouts you just aren't happy with? Well, this is one of them.

I came across this fabulous scrapbooker, Aphra. You can check out her blog: My Scrappy Life. Today she announced a exciting new venture she is taking. She is start a scrapbook kit company! Its called Paper Poppy Kit Co. Cute name huh? The first kit is going to be reveals March 1st on the Paper Poppy Kit Co. Blog. Make sure to go check it out as she is doing 17 days of GIVEAWAY! Make sure to check it out. This is what the site says about there kits: In addition to traditional scrapbooking products, our kits include vintage, handmade, and other unique embellishments.
