Rub a dub dub

I have been trying to sort through photos and my pile of 'don't need to scrap' is growing bigger and bigger! I just can't keep up! Especially when working on a Christmas Bazaar.

Anyhow...this isn't the best picture of my kiddos in the bath, I have much cuter ones, but it documents their first bath together. This was a HUGE thing. lol....SSSOOO much easier than individual baths or what we did it for a short time. The baby bath in the big bath at the same time! :-0 Peyton was quite excited about it and Maddy wasn't real sure what was going on!
I pulled most of the papers (minus the base) from my stash (yeah for using my stash!).
I've had this jute, rope, twine, whatever you want to call it for a long time just begging to be used! I did a lot of hand stitching. That won't be happening again anytime soon! ;-)
I also had some thicker twine that I used. I punched a ton of circles and stars. Of course not having the right punches I altered the punched pieces to fit my needs! :-)

This has been happening a lot. It just warms my heart every time I see them do it. Its totally on their own, not forced. This was at OHSU as we were awaiting getting a few tests done for Maddy.
This is coming out of a store a while back. Chris did her hair that day! Pretty good huh?

Thanks for stopping by!

Art Freckles Blog Hop

Hello blog hoppers! If you came directly to my blog, you don't want to miss out on any fabulous inspiration, so head over to the Art Freckles blog where all the fun begins! This month Art Freckles is celebrating their 2nd Birthday with a Fall Blog Hop!

I love altering. I have two drawers full of empty food containers (this was a Gerber puff pinwheel container) and numerous other items that I thought 'why throw it away when I could alter it?'. I thought now would be the perfect time to put one to use!
I used the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Crafting Kit and Cosmo Cricket Tiny Types.
I traced a pumpkin image I found online (sorry, can't remember where) and then embossed and sanded it. I thought the embossed and sanded lines went so well with the lines already on the paper giving it a fun texture and look! I also sanded the edges to the other parts of the pumpkin. I should have done the same to the tag, but didn't think of it til I already glued the paper down. ;-)

Now hope on over to Shannon's blog.

Make sure and check out Art Freckles friendly message board, inspiring gallery, great store and great blog.

In case you get lost along the way, here is a list of the participating blogs:

Oh, and in case you are curious about whats in the container, its called Sweet Toffee Chex Mix. My mom found the recipe and we've been completely hooked on it!

Here is the recipe:
1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup.
1 tsp vanilla
5 1/2 cup each Crispex and Rice Chex
7 cups Corn Chex
1 pound salted nuts

Boil first 4 ingredients 5 minutes. Mix dry ingredients. (I use a turkey roasting pan) Pour syrup over dry ingredients and stir well. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Spread on wax paper right away.

Art Freckles Card & Birthday

A quick tid bit....Cosmo Cricket has a fab post on their blog today. They showed their beautiful new line and posted a challenge of sorts. They are looking for a honorary GDT for the month of November. SSOOO, y'all knowing how HUGE of a Cosmo Cricket fan I am, I'd be over the moon if I won the GDT spot! I wonder if Lindsay and Julie would take bribes? ;-) Anywho, if you haven't cast a nomination yet, and get a chance, I'd GREATLY appreciate it if you could hop on over to their blog and nominate me (as simple as 'I nominate Mustangkayla and/or Kayla D.'). Their blog is found here: http://cosmocricket.typepad.com/cosmo_cricket/2010/10/sneak-peek-design-team-honorary-spot-.html . Thanks a heep to everyone that does that! I owe ya... :-)

I made this card for a sketch challenge over at Art Freckles. The flowers were made from vintage sheet music I found in the piano bench I inherited from my Grandpa. I also used a SRM sticker. I just love those stickers! They are so fantastic for card making!

We recently celebrated my Grandpa's birthday. It didn't matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get everyone to look at the camera. Here is four generations, my brother and his baby, my grandpa and my dad.
This picture cracks me up. I love how Josh (my brother) and Peyton are interacting.
My mom wanted a picture of all her grandkids together. This is what she got. Haha! Like I said, it was hopeless getting anyone to cooperate with photos!

Creative Scrappers Celebration and Pumpkin Patch

I was visiting Jill's blog and saw that Creative Scrappers is have a celebration. I hopped over to check it out. They are celebrating their 125th sketch! Go check it out! This layout is also for a challenge at Art Freckles. Their challenge was to create a Halloween or Fall project.

This is my take on the Creative Scrappers sketch:

We had planned on taking the kids to the pumpkin patch yesterday but didn't end up going as it was raining. Peyton was quite crushed that we weren't able to make it to the 'corn maze'. I was excited to wake up this morning to sunshine! This years corn maze theme was Jurassic Ranch. Peyton was ecstatic about this one as he is really into dinosaurs at the moment.
I don't know what I would do with out my jog strollers. Yep, I have two. A single one and a double one. They are SSOOO nice and push so easy over most terrain.
I LOVE the views at the pumpkin patch! Here I was up on a little platform in the corn maze.
Yep...Peyton still prefers the stroller over walking. Maddy didn't mind sharing though!
Here they are studying the map, trying to decide which way to go.
Geesa's! Thats what Maddy calls horses and we aren't quite sure why. Both kids got to ride a pony.
Peyton chose the biggest one! He takes his riding quite seriously! ;-)
If this isn't the cutest thing ever and just totally melts my heart. Peyton and Maddy holding hands. They do this often, whether when walking into Peyton's preschool, walking into or out of a store, they often are holding hands.
They had a fun petting zone/area/whatever. I was quite disappointed to learn we had to pay to go in, as it was free last year. But it was worth every penny! The kids really enjoyed it. Peyton was not ready to leave, he wanted to play in there a lot longer.
Peyton went to pet a chicken and it flapped its wings. The look on Peytons face was priceless!
While we really enjoyed our day, I was shocked at how expensive it was. Next year I'm not sure if it will be a priority to make it there.

Pixie-Licious Cosmo Cricket Layout for Art Freckles

Somehow I came across the very sweet and super talented Jill's blog. I saw this post and decided to check it out. What did I find? A very friendly message board, inspiring gallery and CUTE kits! Plus the site/stores name is Art Freckles. How stinkin' cute is that?

I saw their October sketch challenge and had these three pictures sitting on my table begging to be scrapped. The Pixie-licious line from Cosmo Cricket went perfectly with the pictures!
The white layering was a great idea I got from Jill! Thanks Jill! I doodled around the journaling and on the white piece. I'm not the best doodler, so this scared me, but I did it anyway! I'm a ink freak too, so I inked all the edges with a light brown (although its hard to tell that in the picture).

Make sure and stop by Jill's blog here. Also check out Art Freckles. Its their second birthday (Happy Birthday Art Freckles) and they have a lot going on this month!
