Fell off the bandwagon....

I have fallen off the scrappy bandwagon.  How I miss it and want to jump back on board!  I was able to finish up a layout this week (in the whole half hour I had, haha!).  But other than that it has been a couple weeks.  :-(  I think National Scrapbook weekend was when I scrapped last.  The kids are demanding more and we have been gone lots.  Hopefully this summer I will be able to find more time.  Maybe bribe the kids with a trip to the park if they give me some scrappy time without fighting and tons of interruptions.

One of this months challenges at Birds of a Feather is to scraplift a layout in the gallery.  I chose this beautiful layout by my super talented friend Karen.
And this is my take on it:
I really want to keep going on my Project 12 (a layout each month recapping the month).  I loved her squares and used that as my jumping point.  Its not very exciting...none of my Project 12 layouts are.  But they are done and I am okay with that.

This past weekend we went camping.  YAY!  Oh, how I have missed camping!  I really wish I could buck up and learn how to drive the trailer so that we could do it more often.  Its the whole backing thing that has me scared.  Anyhow....we were able to get our favorite spot.  It seems people go out earlier and earlier every year to snag there spots.  I started getting anxious seeing all the trucks and trailers headed through town.
What is camping with out a little Washers?  My father in law built this game and it is one of our favorites.
Maddy sitting with her Grandma.  Stealing her lemonade.  Poor Grandma couldn't keep a bottle of ice tea or lemonade without the kids trying to take sips off it.  I have ice tea too, but Grandma's is better!  :-)  Isn't that true though?  Its always better if it comes from a Grandma!
The kids had a blast in their Power Wheels Jeep. Unfortunately, the tires are getting bald and it struggles getting traction out at camp.  They still had fun though.  Grandpa and Grandma got their workout pushing the kids around when they got stuck and/or wouldn't go.
I think the Little Miss will be our Archery girl.  She had a lot of fun with Peyton's bow and arrow.
A new tradition for us is saving our Christmas tree and the last night of Memorial Day Weekend camp tossing it on the fire.  Its is neat to watch!

I am still couponing.  I get giddy with excitement when I can go into a store and walk out with freebies (the Colgate toothpaste and some of the sodas) or cheap cheap items like boxes of cereal for 75 cents.  I have spent a lot of time in this new hobby and am just now learning how to take less time saving money.
Then there is t-ball.  Peyton is LOVING it!  He caught his first ball in the air that was hit by the opposing team!  VERY cool to watch!  I have been a bad mommy about getting photos.  MUST.REMEMBER.CAMERA!  Here is the Miss Maddy on her way to last nights game.
Yes that is a tiara and camo jacket.  What is missing in the photo is the blue Spiderman sandals with Princess socks on.  haha!

Altered Clipboard {Basic Grey}

Wow...it has been a while since I have posted!  Thank you to all those of you that still stop by every once in awhile!

Last week (or was it the week before) was Teachers Appreciation week.  I picked up clipboard and altered it for Peyton's teacher.  I just LOVE this paper from Basic Grey!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Out for a Stroll

Hello all! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!  I am LOVING the warm weather and being able to be outside so much!  LOVE it!

I've had computer and thumb drive troubles.  My little netbook I used to use is struggling and I rarely use it anymore.  I hopped on it the other day and found this layout:
The kids love to go for walks.  This is a picture last year of the kids out for a walk.  Peyton LOVED to try and catch the many grasshoppers out and about.  Notice Maddy had her 'Kitty' in tow (aka the dolphin).  On this walk a grasshopper jumped onto Maddy!  No worries though, Buddy (Peyton) to the rescue.  He caught it!
The banner, sun, cloud and paper are from Echo Park.  Not sure about the journaling spots.  I did a little stitching.  I just love the look, but am often too lazy to do it.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope all you moms out there have a fantastic Mother's Day!

The Paper Variety Challenge

Hello all!  Happy National Scrapbook Day!  I'm not getting much scrappy time this weekend, but I am having a great day today so far, so I can't complain!  I went out garage saling and got to go to the grocery store all by myself!  Chris took off with the kids and I have had some quiet time...or not so quiet as I had the music blaring while I cleaned and did laundry!

On to some projects.  Next week is Teacher Appreciation week.  Peyton has such a fantastic teacher, I wanted to send something in to her every day.  Here are a couple things I have made so far.  I haven't been able to play along with the Paper Variety challenges for quite some time.  I am excited to be able to play along with this months challenge, which is to use a handmade flower on your project.

These were cans of pears.  I emptied them out from the bottom, washed them, filled them with mini snickers and taped the bottom back on.  I am putting a fancy can opening on my wish list so that I can glue the cans back on.
I pulled a fun piece of paper from my scrap pile and cut a flower from my Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge to jazz it up.
Next thing I made were these:
Super simple...the best kind of project.  The one with gumballs is for his PE teacher.  It says 'Thank you for CHEWsing to teach.  Peyton has a BALL with you'.  Cheezy but cute!

And here is a couple of the things I found while out garage saling.
I've seen so many fun ideas with crates on Pinterest that at a buck, I snagged the one above quick.  I can't decide if I want to hang it on the wall and have it be where Peyton puts his homework folder and papers, or if I want to find a spot for it in my kitchen.  The metal things are trivets.  I plan on spray painting them shiny red and then prettying up the tiles for the inside.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you all are having (or had) a fab weekend!

Here is another layout from our Cruise using the Salt Air line from Cosmo Cricket.  Well, not much of it, but I wanted it to match the last layout I did.  This layout ended up being mostly cardstock!
Puerto Vallart was our favorite port on our Cruise last year.  We would love to return to an all inclusive resort there sometime.  We took a risk and hopped on a tour.  It was a big van with three bench seats in the back.  That was such a great decision!  Our driver was so relaxed and fun.  He stopped where we asked and gave us tons of info.  One of our stops was a Tequila factory.  That was fun!  Nothing like sampling tequila at 10:30 in the morning!  Haha!  We also saw a few view points, ate at an off the path restaurant and did a little shopping.  One very interesting thing we learned there is that power tools are rarely used!  We saw a man cutting away at a metal bar with a saw!  This is why construction takes so long.

Last weekend we had a free afternoon! What was that...a gasp I heard?  I know, I know...how long has it been since I've mentioned I had a Saturday afternoon free?  Yeah, I can't remember either.  We decided to take a drive to a nearby reservoir.  I hadn't ever been there before, and had been wanting to go.  It is roughly a half hour away.  I was pleasantly surprised.  The park and campground were clean and pretty!  I have a feeling we will make our way out there at some point this summer to camp.

We walked down to the water.  I was shocked when Peyton asked if he could wade in the water!  It was sunny and almost 60, so why not?  We rolled up his pants and in he went.  Of course Maddy had to follow. We just pulled her leggings off and let her go in her skirt.
They were having so much fun and getting carried away, and ended up like this:
Yep, we stripped off their pants!  haha!  Nobody else was around, so why not let them have a little fun and wade in deaper?

Tonight was Peyton's first t-ball game.  Chris is coaching this year.  It went great and Peyton had a blast.  I went in a thick hooded sweatshirt as well as my Carhart.  I ended up with Chris's Carhart over mine and still was cold!  Here is the team huddling.

 Peyton up to bat.....
The season is off to a good start!
