Rub a dub dub

I have been trying to sort through photos and my pile of 'don't need to scrap' is growing bigger and bigger! I just can't keep up! Especially when working on a Christmas Bazaar.

Anyhow...this isn't the best picture of my kiddos in the bath, I have much cuter ones, but it documents their first bath together. This was a HUGE thing. lol....SSSOOO much easier than individual baths or what we did it for a short time. The baby bath in the big bath at the same time! :-0 Peyton was quite excited about it and Maddy wasn't real sure what was going on!
I pulled most of the papers (minus the base) from my stash (yeah for using my stash!).
I've had this jute, rope, twine, whatever you want to call it for a long time just begging to be used! I did a lot of hand stitching. That won't be happening again anytime soon! ;-)
I also had some thicker twine that I used. I punched a ton of circles and stars. Of course not having the right punches I altered the punched pieces to fit my needs! :-)

This has been happening a lot. It just warms my heart every time I see them do it. Its totally on their own, not forced. This was at OHSU as we were awaiting getting a few tests done for Maddy.
This is coming out of a store a while back. Chris did her hair that day! Pretty good huh?

Thanks for stopping by!

Crops, crops and more crops!

I just wanted to let everyone know about two crops going on and a FUN new message board I found!

First off, check out Birds of a Feather Kit Co! The board just started up and are having a grand opening crop called The Great Migration (cute, huh?). So come join us! The challenges started Wednesday, but there is still plenty of time left to play! All the challenges are up waiting for you to start! Oh, and mention Kayla sent you! Make sure to check out her great store here too.

Next off is Citrus Tree Studio. They also have a crop going on this weekend. It starts Saturday morning and challenges are listed throughout the day!

Sketch Challenge

Melonie created a great sketch for October over at Citrus Tree Studio.

Here is my take on it:
And a close up:
Yeah, I'm a little behind on Maddy's baby album! ;-)

I saw an craft idea on-line and Peyton was itching to get crafty. We were trying to make sunflowers. This included three of Peytons favorite activities. Painting, cutting and gluing.
Of course, Maddy wanted to participate. Poor girl, I didn't trust her and took her shirt off. Her legs just crack me up in this photo!
Maddy was more interested in take the caps on and off than painting! haha!
Of course, I forgot to get a picture of the craft once it was done. Peyton wanted to give his sunflower to Grandpa and Grandma GG's!

Thanks for stopping by!

Basic Grey Summer Layout

I have been super busy lately getting ready for a garage sale.
I made this layout for a couple challenges. One over at this site, the challenge being use Basic Grey papers. Then the other challenge was at Citrus Tree, challenge being summer colors.

This was such a fun and quick layout. The pictures absolutely crack me up. Last 4th of July it was pretty hot. So we pulled out the slip n slide for Peyton. He was too chicken to try it so Chris decided to show him out it was done. haha! Yep...I missed getting a picture of his first run. He got a good running start thinking he wouldn't be able to slide all the way to the end. Boy was he wrong...he went soaring over the end and sliding into the grass! Haha!
The green is the negative of a sticker I cut around, thought it looked kinda fun! The flowers and circles were cut from a Basic Grey sticker strip.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Fish-On

I have been trying to use up all of a kit or line at a time, rather than leaving a few little pieces that are hard to store. Everything in this layout is from a Citrus Tree Studio kit except the twine and cardstock.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Peyton.

I cut little pieces of patterned paper and glued them on the journaling spot to jazz it up a bit.

This was my first banner! I'm a little behind times I guess! Haha!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Frame & Layout

Tammy over at Citrus Tree Studio challenged us to alter something. I have been wanting to alter a frame like this for a while now and finally got around to doing it. I am thinking about making them for a Christmas Bazaar, but not sure yet.
The top three photo spots spin around. I used one side to decorate and one side left for a photo.
Of course I used my FAVORITE Cosmo Cricket products (minus the chipboard flowers and buttons)!
Here is a layout I created using one of Jana Eubanks sketches. I'm not overly happy with it, but here it is anyway.
This is about my mixed emotions of our house selling. It was a hard decision, but really the best decision for us. It was kinda bitter-sweet. Looking at the house now, I don't really miss the house, but I really miss the backyard and acreage.

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for a challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio. It was to create a masculine card.
The card and papers came from a past Citrus Tree Studio kit. The sentiment is from SRM Stickers. As for the star and button...your guess is as good as mine! :-)

Here is a little close up of the star and button. I just LOVE the SRM stickers!
Here is a picture from a few months ago. My soon to be sister-in-law took it. I think its too cute...Maddy walking with her Grandpa and Grandma GG's!

Paper Weaving and Saturday Fun

Suzanne shared this new technique, photo weaving, she found here. I thought it was a really fun different look. The package of photos I got from Peyton's last photo shoot included 8x10's. I'm NOT an 8x10 fan for the most part. I have a few, but most of the time prefer smaller. So I figured why not give it a whirl, right?

Tammy posted a challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio to create a layout using the color combo brown, cream and blue. I thought that would be perfect for this picture.
This is a close up of the photo, to show the weaving.
A long time ago I got a RAK from someone and included this little metal mesh circle. I sure wish I remembered who I got it from as it made a fantastic embellie for a boy layout!
If you pull on the little tab it has my journaling:

So here it goes, some tidbits about Peyton at the age of 4:
He weights 40 pounds.
He loves dinosaurs, Alvin & The Chipmunks, Spiderman and the punching Hulk (Incredible Hulk).
He still loves Lightning McQueen.
He is very active and loves to go the park to run around and play.
He loves being outside whether it be for a walk, camping, working in the yard, playing catch, riding his bike....you get the idea.
He spelled BARN for Chris on Wednesday. He knows his alphabet and how to count to 14. He is starting to spell some, read and recognize words.
He LOVES his sister, sometimes too much.
He still doesn't like most foods and prefers to play over eat.
His favorite tv shows are World World, Tom & Jerry and Curious George.
Peyton is such a joy and happy boy. He brightens my days and is so much fun.

He is continually cracking me up with our conversations. Some recent ones:
P: Mommy do you smell that?
M: No, what do you smell?
P: Bug poop.

P: Mommy, Mommy, check out my cool new trick!
M: Oh, cool, whats your new trick?
P: The air goes in my ears and out my mouth!
M: Thats a pretty neat trick!

P: Mommy, can we go to Grandpa and Grandma GG's?
M: No, sorry buddy, not today (yes, this is a daily question).
P: Are they closed? (Peyton thinks that if he can't go they are closed, like a store is closed, it cracks me up)

There was a Parade this weekend and quite the festivities going on. Man, can this town put on a parade! It was an hour long! Yeppers...an hour! Peyton's favorite part...the candy (go figure). Maddy seemed to enjoy the animals and LOVED waving at everyone going by. My favorite part...the sanitary company flipped trash cans over and put them on wheels and used them as drums. It was pretty neat to see them marching and creating a fun little beat.

It was pretty darn warm and to cool off I pulled out the slip n slide for Peyton. He doesn't get the slide part, but had fun running through it. Yep he's in his skivs again. I told him to take off his tank top. I turned around and he had his shorts off too! lol...

Citrus Tree Studio June Kit

I have two more layouts and two cards that I created using the June Citrus Tree Studio Mens Department Kit.

Sorry about the wrinkles in the page, I recently learned my 1 1/2 year old daughter can reach further onto my scrapbook table than I thought! lol...
Peyton got so excited when Chris asked him if he wanted to help wash his car. Yep, I wonder how long that will last! Haha! Of course he had to have his own wash spoofa raggy mabopper. I used a fun sketch by Aphra for this layout. Make sure and visit Aphra's blog, she's got some serious talent!
I did lots of stitching and inking. This kit came with a serious amount of fun chipboard to work with. Chipboard buttons, emebellies and may favorite....Thickers! Yeppers peppers, had a pack of thickers AND, yep that was a big AND a second set of alpha sticker! How cool is that?

I have a few random pictures of Peyton I wanted to scrap. I came up with this idea. This is truly a typical day in our life. There is usually a lot of laughter (because of naughty disgusting people out there I chose not to show the bare but photo I took along with the picture of the skivs on the head), a little crying (yes, sadly its an almost daily event) and if Mommy is lucky a nap.
Yep, paper rolling. It took a while, but man, I love the looks of it! I kept seeing layouts from Melinda Sparks. Yeah, I highly recommend you check out her blog too. She's got some serious talent as well!

Now for a simple Father's Day card. I love kits that come with cards and/or alterable items! This kit came with TWO cards! how cool is that? Since men are men, I kept my cards simple. I think they appreciate them, but I don't think they totally get the concept if I spent a TON of time on them KWIM? Although I do have to say, I gave one of Chris's cousins (younger teen age) a handmade card with money in it and he commented on the card, thought it was cool and thanked me for the hand made card! Yep, a good kid he is! Okay, on to the next card...
The chipboard frame was so much fun! I sprayed it with a little Smooch Spritz and Maya Mist. It has a really neat look to it IRL!
Yep, yep, that about does it for my June Citrus Tree Studio Mens Department Kit. Or I should say, that is what I've completed with it so far. I have enough left over to create a couple more layouts and/or a handfull of cards. Such a fun kit it is.
Apparently I used a lot of slang in this post as my spell check went WILD. Apparently lol..., IRL, KWIM, skivs, embellies, thickers, yeppers, spoofa, raggy and mabopper are not in the dictionary! ;-)

Citrus Tree Studio June Kit Reveal

Cindy at Citrus Tree Studio e-mailed me and asked if I'd like to be a guest designer using their June kit. Of course I jumped at the opportunity! I received the kit in the mail and boy howdy was I ever excited. This is one FAB kit. I have gotten 4 layouts and 2 cards and still have enough left for more! Plus it came with TWO alphas, yep, you heard me right folks....2 alphabets! I have two layouts to share today and I'll be back soon to share the other layouts and cards!

I used a sketch from Scrap a Little for this one. Isn't that flower neat? Yep, its part of the kit. The brads and embroidery floss are from my stash.
There was a ton of chipboard buttons in this kit! I inked them and layered them.
I cut the flourishes using a Quickuts die and my Cuttlebug. I did lots of inking and sewing on this layout.
This picture of Peyton just cracks me up! I heard him say "I'm going shopping Mommy" and turn around to see him in my boots, no pants on, underwear on backwards using his sisters walker as a shopping cart! He's such a hoot and getting to be so creative!
Do you ever have those layouts that start out with big fantastic ideas, but in the end, its just a let down to what you had pictured? Well, this layout is one of those for me.
I stitched the buttons on a little different, just cause! ;-)
I fussy cut paper and layered and pop dotted it. You can see in the bottom left corner, I doodled on the journaling spots like the paper was printed up above.
I had so much fun with this kit. Its one of those perfect kits that are very flexible. I can picture masculine pages, family pages, kids pages, you name it! Cindy has two fantastic kits up for grabs this month, I designed with the Mens Department one!

Color Challenge

Citrus Tree Studio had a challenge this month to use the colors red, yellow and blue. Here is my take on the challenge and in my true form lately, a horrible picture of the layout. I had a few random pictures from last summer I wanted to scrap, so I put them all together. I just LOVE this Basic Grey line. Its so cute and fun! This was a very quick and simple layout.

I hope you all have a fun weekend planned!

Creative Cuts & More Layout

Here is a layout showcasing some of my fun die cuts from Creative Cuts & More . The large scalloped circle, the small scallop circle frame which was cut from tacky tape and I used Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter on, and the Doodlebug Lilac Jewels all came from Creative Cuts & More.

I got the above picture and realized I forgot to stitch on it like I had wanted. So I stitched real quick and took another picture. Look how much better the first picture is! Same spot...just an hour difference...so frustrating.
I like the stitching...just wish the picture would have come out better! Ugh...
Here is a close up of the scalloped circle frame out of tacky tape. I put it on purple cardstock, cut around it and sprinkled it with white Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter. It was the perfect base for my flower!

These two cuties are my cousins girls. Peyton has been asking for them daily, wondering when they are going to come and visit. We only get to see them once a year. I wish we lived closer and/or airfare was a TON cheaper so that we could see each other more often. Once a year just isn't enough.
Other products used on my layout: Butterfly (not sure of the brand, I got it from the Dollar Tree), Bazzill cardstock (from CC&M), Basic Grey Paper (thank you Tammy), American Crafts Thickers, DMC Floss, Prima Flowers, Unknown Flowers, Colorbox Chalk Ink.
This layout was also for a Sewing challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio.

Popcorn & Dancing

Here is another layout that is both for a challenge at Creative Cookbooking and Citrus Tree Studio. Creative Cookbooking challenged us to use the colors black, white and gold. Nicole Stark created a fantastic sketch for her challenge at Citrus Tree.

I didn't get many pictures on Mother's Day. Here is one of Maddy and her Uncle Coco dancing!
And one of the little miss in a skirt and a hair clip. Gotta point those out to all of you who know me well. Oh and notice the pink strip in the skirt! *wink*

I've been busy working on DT projects, so make sure and check back soon as I can't share them just yet. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! We are laying sod! Exciting huh?

Poop Cookies and Pictures

This layout is for a challenge over at Creative Cookbooking AND at Citrus Tree Studio. Creative Coookbooking GDT Tara challenged to scrap about something your mom cooked for you as a child and that you now cook for your children. Citrus Tree Studio's DT Tammy challenged us to sew. Well, what else other than Poop cookies? Funny thing is, both Chris and my mom have made these FOREVER. They are really chocolate no bake cookies, but take a look at them and you see where their name came from! ;-)

I came across this fun cooking paper from Moxxie at our lss. I've also had a sketch from Stacey I've been wanting to use for a while.
This was Peytons first time helping me make cookies. He wanted to wear a hat (coffee filter) while he helped me cook. Isn't he cute?
We had a garage sale this past weekend. I caught Peyton playing in the baby stuff.....
Yep, enough said there.....
That afternoon we went out to Kah-Nee-Tah for a Chamber event. I made the mistake of not trying on my dress (*ahem* from my Junior Prom) BEFORE we went down there. Come to find out the seem in the rear of the dress was opening up. Chris to the rescue......
This past Sunday we were up at my parents house visiting for a while. My Grandpa happened to be there also. He was taken with Maddy and Maddy with him. At one point she grabbed a hold of his finger and took off for a walk. lol...
