1 month!

I typed this up last week and then forgot to post it! Oops!!!

Madeline turned 1 month old on Monday! I can't believe a month has gone by already! Here are some 1 month tidbits:
  • 7 lbs 14 oz.
  • 20 1/2 inches
  • She eats like crazy (hence the the HUGE weight gain)
  • She can sleep 5 hours...if she wants to (key words if and want!)
  • She is awake and alert more often
  • Her favorite position is to be laying on your chest
  • The light in her bassinet seems so really sooth her and be the key to end the little fussing she does
  • She grunts a lot and makes tons of cute little noises

Another note, Chris wakes up to her fussing and noises WAY before I do! He scared the tar out of me at 3 this morning when he was standing between my side of the bed and the bassinet reaching for a burp rag on my nightstand! I thought the moms were the ones who woke up to everything and the dads slept through it all! Guess it shows how tired I truly am!

I am taking monthly pictures of Madeline next to this teddy to show how much she has grown! Here she is at 1 month!

Snack Machine

That is what I feel like, a snack machine. Madeline weighed in at 7 pounds 14 ounces! She gained over a pound in one week! Quite the eater we have on our hands!

As I was doing my normal blog reading I came across a new blog (on Layle Koncars blog) that is having a big kick off next week. It's called The Scrap Review and can be found here: http://www.thescrapreview.com/ . (Sorry guys, I have yet to figure out how to post a link word, where you type the name and if you click on it it goes to that site). Layle and as few of her friends report and review everything from adhesives to trimmers to big ticket personal cutting systems. Their launch starts March 1st and includes 7 give-aways!

Here are a few pictures of Peyton! Don't ya just love the wranglers and hat? So darn cute!

Silly Boy!

Peyton like to keep Madeline company when she's on the floor! He can be quite the silly boy these days!

Peyton is just crackin' me up with his manners. Chris told me 'Thank You' for something the other afternoon and Peyton busted me for not saying 'Your Welcome' back. He also gets quite upset if Chris tries to sneak a bite of what he's eating. He'll start yelling 'no Papa, no' and whine. But if Chris interrupts his whining and asks him for a bite he is more than happy to share! lol... Gotta love the minds of 2 1/2 year olds!

Last week I was able to finish a card (sorry the picture is crooked and not the best!) and layout! WAHOO!!! Here they are!

More pics!

Chris had the day off yesterday so he went with me to get Madeline's first vaccine and PKU test done. She did pretty good, not much crying. She weighed 6 lbs 12 oz!

Here are some cute pictures I've gotten in the last couple of days.

Peyton was keeping her company during her tummy time! It was so cute!

This is why....

I try to take a shower when Chris is home!

You may ask where his pants are? Well I've learned to pick my battles and wearing pants while at home just isn't one of them, haha!!! Yes, those are my shoes, he pulled all the shoes from underneath the bed and found pairs, then pair by pair put them on and walked into my bathroom where he left them and went for another pair! If the picture was better you could see at least 4 more pairs of shoes in the bathroom. My FatBaby boots are his fave! Prior to that he was trying to take his sister for a 'spin'. Literally, he started to push her bassinet she was in in a circle! Like I said I choose my battles. Don't really care about the pants, but spinning sister is a battle I won!

Random...

A couple random tidbits:

Chris and I noticed right away that Madeline has Grandpa John's (my Dads) sneezes. She seems to have at least three or more right in a row just like him.

Hiccups happen at least a couple times a day. Poor girl, they last quite a while too.

Here is a picture of Madeline...aren't you all impressed? She has pink on and I even put a little pink headband on her!

She Gained & New Version of Old MacDonald

I took Madeline to the doctor again yesterday for a weighing and check up. She weighed 6 lbs 1 oz! WAHOO!!! Her Doctor said she looked great!

Chris and I were in the living room and watching HGTV when we heard Peyton singing Old MacDonald as he was looking at his books. It went something like this...

Old MacDonald had a farm, EIEIO,
And on that farm he had an Octopus, EIEIO,

Old MacDonald had a farm, EIEIO,
And on that farm he had a shark, EIEIO,

Old MacDonald had a farm, EIEIO,
And on that farm he had a fish, EIEIO....

And so the song goes.
How cute is that?

I forgot mention a week long crop at Scrap 4 Life (there is a link to their site on right hand side of my blog). The Design Team Member (Jennifer) putting it on has some awesome challenges put together! Scrap 4 Life is a friendly and fun site! Come join us, there is still tons of time to participate and play!

Eye Candy for Blog Candy!

I have 2 Sketches 4 You Blog on my google reader (program to track the many many blogs I like to read). They are giving away some wonderful Sakura Glaze pens to a lucky person who posts their Eye Candy (someone who makes your heart go pitter patter) on their blog and link it back to them. Make sense? So here is my eye candy. I couldn't decide between two pics. I don't have any recent ones of just Chris without Peyton or Madeline in them. So I have an older one and a more recent one of him and Peyton fishing. Love the one of Chris and Peyton. Chris is such a good Papa and Peyton just adores him. I have to give a big KUDOS to Chris, he has been getting up in the middle of the night a lot and taking a feeding shift so that I can get more sleep! How terrific is he? He also was so supportive and took all the hormonal ups and downs and crankiness that come along with pregnancy and stress so well over the last two weeks and was with me all the way through Madelines NICU stay. Not sure how I got so lucky to find a keeper but I did. Okay, now for the pictures:

Commonly heard....

Some things heard often around my house lately:
  • "Don't eat her mommy, don't eat her!", coming from Peyton when I am giving Madeline Moochies.
  • "Check it out Mommy, dats really cool man!" as said by Peyton when doing something new or playing with a car.
  • "Look Mommy!!!" - As we were riding in the truck, Peyton decided he wanted to hold Madelines hand. How sweet is that?
  • "You feed Baby Sister Addy (can't get him to say Maddy for some reason) chocolate milk?" - Peyton asked me this as I was nursing Madeline.
  • "There's Baby Sister Madeline Addy!" lol...gotta have both the name and nickname, again he for some reason won't say Maddy.
  • "I love you so much" followed by a big hug and kiss...how sweet is that?
  • "Can we go to Grandma and Grandpa GG's?" This is heard daily and often more times than I can count!
  • "You get to go to Grandma and Grandpa GG's cause you a big boy?" We tried to bribe Peyton to go potty in the toilet by a special trip to his GGs house. Well the little smarty pants now comes in when we are in the bathroom and proceeds to tell us we can go to Grandma and Grandpa GG's cause we are big boys and go pee pee in the potty...lol....
  • "Dats silly"
  • "You a silly goose"
  • "Yeah, I DO I DO" as he claps his hands jumps up and down and turns around. This often follows after we offer him a favorite snack or ask him if he wasnt to so something or go somewhere.

Peytons favorite activites: playing with cars, doing puzzles and playing with sticker books. He still enjoys reading, but not as much as other activities these days.

Madelines favorite activiites: Eating and sleeping...bet ya couldn't have guessed that one huh?

I am amazed at how incredibly sweet Peyton is. He will out of the blue come up to Chris and I and tell us he loves us and give us kisses and hugs. He does the same with Maddy. He will be playing and then just walk over to Maddy and give her kisses on the forehead.

New Pictures

Thought I'd share a few more pics. How cute is this hat? My mom made it while we were in the hospital waiting for my contractions to pick up. She so stinkin' talented!

Madeline stretching...I just love watching her stretch and listening to her little noises and grunts!

Peyton just LOVES his baby sister. He was so excited when we asked him if he wanted to hold her. Just look at his proud smile!

Here is another one!
He is such a wonderful big brother and loves to help. Here he was holding her hand cause she was making a fussing sound and holding her pacifier in her mouth for her. I caught him standing on his chair next to the bassinet talking to her and trying to give her her paffers (pacifier) yesterday.

More pics!

Thought I'd share a few pics! Peyton LOVED the play room at the Ronald McDonald House. He spent 4 hours there one afternoon and it was a complete challenge to pry him away from there!

Maddy slept through the whole ride home!
Peyton is such a wonderful big brother. He takes her books to read and always runs over to her bassinet when she fusses peering over the side asking her if she's okay. He'll grab her pacifier and hold it in her mouth. He loves to give her kisses and hugs!
Maddy got her first bath at home last night! She has such a good Papa, he gave both her and big brother Peyton a bath last night!

HOME!

We are home! Y EAH!!!!! The doctor came in this morning while we were feeding Maddy. He was impressed with her eating and since they weren't having to put any food in the tube that went down her nose into her stomach for over 24 hours, he said that if we are comfortable, we could go home! WAHOO!!!!

Got lots to do, so better get going!

New Pics

Hello! Thought I'd share some more pictures! I realized I need to get a few more of Maddy today as I don't have but a couple since she's moved out of her temperature regulating bed (they call them a Giraffe). The first picture is of her sunbathing, she had a bit of jaundice and spent 2 days under the lights.Chris and I have quite the routine down. He takes her temp, I change her diaper, he weighs her, I nurse, he bottle feeds if she needs more food! Works out great and I think the nurses like that we tend to fend for ourselves and do our thing. The nurses have been great about letting us do as much as we want. Although we both are still chickens and nervous about bathing her.
She was moved to her open bed yesterday! She a cute little outfit on now and swaddled up. She also has a cute little hat. I went through a couple outfits and swaddling blankets during the first diaper changes as she kept going potty and poo while I had her diaper off. Guess I was a slow learner and it took me three times before I realized I need to put a clean diaper under the one I'm taking off!

Flowers....I just LOVE fresh flower arrangements and wish I could spray them and keep them that way for months. Here are a couple arrangements we have received. I received a really pretty one last night with lillies (my favorite) that I haven't gotten a picture of. It makes our room feel more homey and smells so good! Thank you to those who gave me flowers!
I had better go grab a bite to eat before the next feeding! We'll keep you posted on how things are going. We are pretty much waiting on Maddy to eat well enough to be able to come home. She is holding her own temp well which is one thing that she needed to do before she was able to come home. Now she just needs to keep eating well and big enough meals! We don't have an estimate of when we will be home, but I am getting quite home sick and hope it is soon! I miss being able to spend quality time with my little man.
