I'm a thrift shop and garage sale junky! I'm always looking for things to alter or re-do to work in my house for a fraction of the price of something brand new. While at a local thrift store in December, I came across this:
This isn't the exact one (thank you google images for the picture), but looks just like it! It had a Home Interiors sticker on the back. I picked it up for $4! :-) I instantly had a vision for it! This was my vision:
My poor camera, I dropped it and the piece that slides out the zoom thingy broke. :-( Luckily Chris was able to fix it, but now the card is locked and won't unlock for me (yes, I have been sliding that dang button back and forth a dozen times trying to get it to unlock). So I had to use my cell phone. :-/ The colors are off, I'm not happy with the pictures. I was just so excited about it that I had to share anyway!
I used black paint as I didn't have any dark brown. I painted a small section on, and then wiped it off with a rag to get a distressed look and let some of the lighter would show through a bit. I got inspiration for the different section from tags and cards from the super talented Jan!
Thanks for stopping by!
I posted this over at Thrifty Decor Chicks Before and After Party.
