Project 12 May 2011 Layout

I had this layout done for a week now, or so I thought. I took pictures before we took off for the wedding intending to get them uploaded. I finally did it this morning and the camera date stamped it right over the layout. So back downstairs and outside I go to take more pictures. I got back upstairs and uploaded them and realized I forgot the title. So I got the title put on and back downstairs I got again! haha! This layout is sure giving me my workout!

I really liked May's sketch! Here is my take on Project 12 May.
I left it pretty simple as the papers I chose were busier as well as the pieces I fussy cut.
I combined a few different lines for this one. The brown circle paper is Bella Blvd, the orange circled one is We R Memory Keepers and the birds are....????...I think it is We R Memory Keepers too, but can't remember now. The little die cut piece is My Minds Eye.
A close up of the journaling....

May was a super busy month for us. We started the month getting over the flu. Happy 30th birthday to me! haha! The following week was a surprise birthday for Chris's uncle and cousin (60 and 40). That was a blast! We also celebrated my nephews 1st birthday that weekend! We had lots of COLD t-ball games. I took the kids to story time numerous times, which they love! This particular day they were building things with toothpicks and gumdrops! Maddy ate them....Peyton built with them! haha! We finished off the month camping with family and friends. The weekend went too fast, but lots of good memories were made!

I am truly enjoying Project 12! I highly recommend you guys to play along, even if you don't link up or are just now starting!

Busy Busy Busy

We've been super super busy! Peyton started gymnastics last week. He LOVES it and wanted to know why we had to stop when the class was over! :-)
We've been playing lots of games. Peyton's new favorite: Spiderman Sorry.
We've been outside quite a bit! LOVING the warmer weather. Her Maddy took off her pants and put them on inside out and backwards! Quite the style I tell ya!
I am addicted to a new craft. I was able to finish this up or my kitchen.
Peyton had his last t-ball game the 1st of June.
Notice they still wore heavy jackets...it was cold, but not as bad as past games!
We had a lot of fun watching him play.

This past weekend was my brother-in-law's wedding. We took off Thursday, trailer in tow for a couple hour drive to Portland. We stayed at a little campground right near the wedding location. It was a FULL weekend and I am SUPER tired, but it was LOTS of fun! Hopefully I'll find time soon to upload pictures!

Thanks for stopping by! I have my Project 12 layout to share as well as a couple others! I just need to get photos taken and uploaded! :-)

Sweet Summer Days Layout

Hello! I have another layout to share today. This one was inspired by a layout I saw on Pinterest. It came from this site.
I just love this Scenic Route paper that Helen Croft sent me quite a while ago. It was in my card making stash cause I only have a few pieces left. But the papers were just right for the pictures.
I die cut a scalloped circle using my CuddleBut and Nestability die. I doodled on it as well as the Scenic Route chipboard. I can't get enough of these darn little butterflies I punch from my Martha Stewart punches.
I can't get enough mixed alpha titles either! LOVE mixing alphas.

The layout qualifies for The Paper Variety challenge this week. If you haven't checked out that site, your missing out! They have fun challenges posted every Tuesday.

Peyton started gymnastics Tuesday. Its a little summer program that is only two days a week for about a month. He had a TON of fun and asked how come we had to go home.
Maddy was quite upset that she could not participate. She was quite VOCAL about it all too! This is when I miss having so many babysitters close by to watch her for 45 min.
Somehow he knew I'd have my camera out and looked right at me! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Banner and Graduation Pictures

Hello! So much to do...so little time! Seems to be my moto these days!

Have you ever tried to take a picture of a banner? Its SUPER hard! I tried and tried and this is the best I got.
The majority of the papers are My Minds Eye.
I printed off a butterfly pattern I found on Wendy's blog and then cut and traced it onto patterned paper for the butterflies. Each frame was also traced and handcut and then inked.
The scalloped circles were cut with my Nestabilities and Cuddlebug. The little butterflies were punched using my Martha Stewart punch. LOTS of inking and layering! I tied each piece together using two different sheer ribbons. I LOVE how it came out and sure wish I would have thought to do something like this for Maddy's birthday. I still may try to do one (without the months) for both kids rooms. I think instead of the circles with months in them, different dinosaurs would be fun for Peyton and flowers and butterflies for Maddy.

I was shocked when I got Peyton to agree to take a picture with his teachers! These gals are the best! Peyton had such a great experience and really enjoyed having them as his teachers.
He has asked a handful of times how come he can't go to school anymore. I just hope he likes Kindergarten just as much! Peyton's graduation was on Thursday. My camera was acting up and the majority of the pictures came out blurry. :-( They sang a few songs for us.
They walked down the isle with their caps on.
Then we had cake and punch afterwards! These centerpieces were so cute!
Afterwards we headed back to our house to play a few games and celebrate some more!
A little sprinkler time. Maddy insisted on wearing shorts like Peyton.
It wasn't worth a battle, so that is what she wore!
Peyton actually ran through the sprinkler. Maddy did not.
Grandpa John decided to take a little nap. Maddy thought he needed a blanky on him, and of course, had to crawl up on him to get it on him properly!

And the graduate!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hats

Yes, this layout seems kinda out of place in June. But let me tell you, until the last week or two, the kids had been wearing hats outside on a regular basis! We are finally up into the 70's and it feels like a heat wave! Haha!

Anyhow...these are from two winters ago. My mom found this CUTE knit hat with a fur trim on it for Peyton. I found the cute crochet flower on a hair clip at a bazaar and thought it would be really cute clipped on the santa hat for Maddy!
I used a sketch for this, but for the life of me can't track back where I got the sketch from. I must have thrown the paper away that I wrote it down on. This layout was for a color challenge over at Birds of a Feather.

I got an e-mail a few weeks ago asking if I'd be interested in making a banner for a 1st birthday party! :-0 I hadn't ever really made a banner and was surprised someone liked my work well enough to ask me to make them something! It was a huge boost to my ego. :-) Anyhow...I finished that up and have picture I need to upload and share. I sure wish I would have thought of it for Maddy's 1st birthday. Its so cute! I'm currently working on a mini album for a upcoming blog hop! I'm really excited about it too!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Boy Layout and Sprinkler Fun

Man, where has time gone? My last post was Friday!!!! My days are getting away with me!

The Paper Variety challenged us to create a layout or project about a special man or boy in our life. Here is a layout I created with a few random pictures I had of Peyton from last summer.
This was the beginning of his computer obsession! He LOVES to play games on the computer.

We had a few nice days this week. Peyton saw the sprinklers on in the front yard and asked if he could run through them. He was fully dressed and it was 6 at night, but what the heck. Kids gotta have fun, right?
He thought that was pretty funny and came back inside drenched and ready for his bath!
Today is Peyton's last day of preschool. *sniff* *sniff* My baby is growing up. Tomorrow is his graduation!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Double Pager and Camping

Hello there! This week has been super busy! Monday was filled with returning from camping and LOTS of laundry and cleaning. Tuesday I spend the day at my Mom's house. Wednesday was preschool and Peyton's last day of T-ball. Thursday was preschool and story time at the library as well as still trying to catch up from the extended weekend. Then today we took off at for garage sales and some play time at the park. Not leaving much time for much of anything!

I do have a layout to share I completed last week though. I lifted a layout I saw on Julie Bonner's Blog a while back. I've had these photos for some time. This years Round-Up is just a few weeks away! The Round Up is a pretty big even in these parts. They have a FABULOUS parade. My favorite part of the parade...the sanitary company turning trash cans into drums and beating out music as they marched by! Lots of horses and past princesses and queens riding horses too. They fill the park with vendors and live music as well as a few activities for the kids. One of the activities was to paint a wood horse. These horses were then raced before the horse races on Sunday. Peyton was pretty overwhelmed and overheated during the race. But I think he enjoyed it! I'm curious to see if he does it again this year.

Sorry about the shadow in the lower left.
The 'Wrangler' was given to Peyton after the race.

I took a ton of photos over the weekend. I haven't had a chance to really go through all of them that much. But here are two I took having fun with the campfire.
Many of us were sitting around the fire chit-chatting and I pulled out my camera to play.
This is what you get when you throw a Christmas tree on top of the fire! haha! I think we timed it at 30-45 seconds to be fully engulfed! :-0
