July Cosmo Cricket Challenge at

Hello everyone! I've been over at my moms hanging out visiting with a cousin who is in town. I look forward to this cousins visit EVERY year!

Since I haven't had much time to scrap lately and nothing to share, I thought I'd share some older layouts. I used a couple old layouts for examples for my challenge over at I challenged everyone to use fun shaped borders, whether it be a border punch, fussy cut or hand cut.
I've always like this layout. I love the way that paper fussy cut to a fun shape. Early Bird is one of my favorite lines!
This is another one. Speaking of the cousin here, this is her and her girls! :-)

I hope you'll play along! Cosmo Cricket always sends out goodies to the winner! :-) They arrive in the cutest box ever...a Cosmo Cricket Pizza box!

I had planned on taking TONS of pictures while my cousin was in town, but my camera battery died. :-( And I hadn't thought to pack it. I have a few days left!

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We were super busy, but it was a good weekend all in all!

Here is a layout I completed for a sketch challenge over at Birds of a Feather. I struggled with the sketch a a bit! I loved the sketch at first site, but then when it came to putting it together I hit a road block! Don't you hate it when that happens?
I used some Echo Park Papers and stickers. The chipboard is Lilly Bee.
Maddy came up with the idea to put her baby in my scrap tote and drag her around the room all by herself. I asked her what she was doing and she said, 'walk baby'.

Along those lines....I had a couple laundry baskets out I had been hauling stuff around in. Maddy climbed in on and Peyton took off with her! They would just giggle and giggle and giggle!
Yesterday was kids/family day at the rodeo. Peyton took the stick horse he made last year and raced it! He was quite disappointed he didn't win the belt buckle/first place, but I think he had fun! For some reason I sent the camera with Chris to get pictures. I realized to late that I should have kept it as he will only get backside shots!

Off to get a work out in before I had to my moms house! One of my cousins that I only get to see once a year will be in town! I can't wait to see her and her girls! :-) Have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Busy Saturday (lots of photos)

We have had a busy busy week. Tuesday and Thursday were gymnastics for Peyton. I'm getting really annoyed with my camer as this keeps happening when I try to get pictures of him during his class:
Wednesday was the summer library program.
As you can see, both kids enjoyed it.
Wednesday was also the cattle run for the Round-Up (a big event here where I live). A herd of cows is herded down the main street.
The time was printed wrong in the advertising, so we ended up waiting almost 2 hours to watch. I debated going home, but had never watched one so I wanted too. I was expecting big bulls and had to laugh at the calves running down the street. The first side street they could, the herd took off. Once turned stopped and back on track they did okay for a block till they found a gas station and fast food restaurant to wander through. lol....
Friday I took the kids down to the park where they had bouncy houses and different activities for the kids. Peyton LOVED the blow up maze.
Both kids enjoyed the bouncy house.
We also stopped by Chris's work for their customer appreciation bbq. They had rodeo princesses, queens and the rodeo clown there.

Peyton was so tuckered out that he fell asleep on our way out of town to my Mother-in-laws birthday bbq. He chose to wear his costume. :-)
Saturday was the Round Up parade. Maddy cracks me up in this picture. Its totally her...yelling something.
Then turning around and giggling with exciting over what she sees!
These people were pretty cool. Can you imagine standing on those horses like that? They were the rodeo entertainment that we watched Saturday night.
I saw my dream car...well, almost my dream car. Mine will be a convertible! ;-)
Peyton and Maddy had fun collecting candy. Although Maddy would grab one piece, take it back to her bag, then go back for more, which was all gone by the time she got back. haha! She also ate it as fast as she could collect it!
Both kids thought the rodster cars, the big trucks horns and the sirens were too loud!
There were bagpipes on. LOVE bagpipes!
This is my favorite part of the parade. The local sanitary service company converts their trash cans into drums and beats on them as they walk down the road. They do such a great job and its so much fun to listen and watch them.
Later in the afternoon we took the kids to the carnival. I had total sticker shock! My word has carnival prices gone up! Wowza.....Sissy was disappointed that she couldn't go with Buddy. But he really enjoyed the roller coaster.
Peyton also got to play a couple games. He popped a balloon on his first try!
The gal at the pond was very nice and let Maddy pretend she was playing the game while Peyton was.
After the carnival we headed to the rodeo. Can you say 'cotton candy?' What a HUGE mess that was. Thank goodness I brought a bunch of wipees.
This is what you get when you sit in the front row...
We sat their as we thought it easy access to escape if the kids acted up and it was just easier with the kids. I didn't think about all the people walking in front of us. I love rodeos. I wish we could have stayed longer, but the kids were ready to go home.
Luckily we were able to watch the show before we headed for home.

Layouts and Garage Saling

I have been super busy lately! Haven't I been saying that the last couple of posts???? I just finished up, well, almost finished up a special mini for a blog hop I'm participating in late July! Keep your eyes open for it! Its one of my favorites I have ever made!

While at the wedding last weekend, I remembered it was my Mother-in-laws birthday today! :-0 I had nothing in mind and no ideas! I had started her an 8x8 album a while back so I decided to pump out a couple simple layouts to add to it. After all, its all about the photos, right?
My good friend Karen won this adorable October Afternoon camping line and had it sent to me cause she knew I'd have lots of camping and outdoor photos! I just LOVE this line!
For this Christmas layout I used my My Minds Eye paper stack and a few other odds and ends of embellies.
Sorry about the glare in the photo above. Remember...I said super don't get much more simple than this one! ;-) I used Echo Park for this one!

I need to work harder at making sure I do layouts for my mom's and mother-in-laws albums. I get so behind in my own I forget about theirs!

Not on to garage saling! I just LOVE this time of year when they start popping up like crazy! I try to limit how many I go to and plan a little route out so that I can get the most out of both kids! Yes...I take both with me! :-0 I hit some REALLY good sales today. Wanna see some of what I got?

This Little People Set in EXCELLENT shape, the gal had even taped the above image to the front of a plastic zippered bag she kept the animals in. Its roughly around $50 and I got it for $5!!!!
This game has gotten much cuter than the version I played as a kid. Cowboy hat and bows instead of ears. Lips and teeth instead of the chin swirl thing. Skates and feet instead of legs. Yeah...much cuter! It looked brand new, only a $1.
These things are so fun! They are called Popoids. Amazon has the set for around $50-60. This isn't the set we got, but really similar. I scored it for $2!
A Spiderman Mask to go with the Spiderman costume I bought Peyton for a quarter. Making his whole halloween costume under $1!!!!!

I also found a really nice OSU fleece jacket and t-shirt for Peyton, some cones to set up courses for Peyton on his bike and a few other things. Tomorrow is a neighborhood garage sale. I'm hoping to find a little childrens table and chair set for our kitchen.

Project 12 May 2011 Layout

I had this layout done for a week now, or so I thought. I took pictures before we took off for the wedding intending to get them uploaded. I finally did it this morning and the camera date stamped it right over the layout. So back downstairs and outside I go to take more pictures. I got back upstairs and uploaded them and realized I forgot the title. So I got the title put on and back downstairs I got again! haha! This layout is sure giving me my workout!

I really liked May's sketch! Here is my take on Project 12 May.
I left it pretty simple as the papers I chose were busier as well as the pieces I fussy cut.
I combined a few different lines for this one. The brown circle paper is Bella Blvd, the orange circled one is We R Memory Keepers and the birds are....????...I think it is We R Memory Keepers too, but can't remember now. The little die cut piece is My Minds Eye.
A close up of the journaling....

May was a super busy month for us. We started the month getting over the flu. Happy 30th birthday to me! haha! The following week was a surprise birthday for Chris's uncle and cousin (60 and 40). That was a blast! We also celebrated my nephews 1st birthday that weekend! We had lots of COLD t-ball games. I took the kids to story time numerous times, which they love! This particular day they were building things with toothpicks and gumdrops! Maddy ate them....Peyton built with them! haha! We finished off the month camping with family and friends. The weekend went too fast, but lots of good memories were made!

I am truly enjoying Project 12! I highly recommend you guys to play along, even if you don't link up or are just now starting!

Busy Busy Busy

We've been super super busy! Peyton started gymnastics last week. He LOVES it and wanted to know why we had to stop when the class was over! :-)
We've been playing lots of games. Peyton's new favorite: Spiderman Sorry.
We've been outside quite a bit! LOVING the warmer weather. Her Maddy took off her pants and put them on inside out and backwards! Quite the style I tell ya!
I am addicted to a new craft. I was able to finish this up or my kitchen.
Peyton had his last t-ball game the 1st of June.
Notice they still wore heavy was cold, but not as bad as past games!
We had a lot of fun watching him play.

This past weekend was my brother-in-law's wedding. We took off Thursday, trailer in tow for a couple hour drive to Portland. We stayed at a little campground right near the wedding location. It was a FULL weekend and I am SUPER tired, but it was LOTS of fun! Hopefully I'll find time soon to upload pictures!

Thanks for stopping by! I have my Project 12 layout to share as well as a couple others! I just need to get photos taken and uploaded! :-)

Sweet Summer Days Layout

Hello! I have another layout to share today. This one was inspired by a layout I saw on Pinterest. It came from this site.
I just love this Scenic Route paper that Helen Croft sent me quite a while ago. It was in my card making stash cause I only have a few pieces left. But the papers were just right for the pictures.
I die cut a scalloped circle using my CuddleBut and Nestability die. I doodled on it as well as the Scenic Route chipboard. I can't get enough of these darn little butterflies I punch from my Martha Stewart punches.
I can't get enough mixed alpha titles either! LOVE mixing alphas.

The layout qualifies for The Paper Variety challenge this week. If you haven't checked out that site, your missing out! They have fun challenges posted every Tuesday.

Peyton started gymnastics Tuesday. Its a little summer program that is only two days a week for about a month. He had a TON of fun and asked how come we had to go home.
Maddy was quite upset that she could not participate. She was quite VOCAL about it all too! This is when I miss having so many babysitters close by to watch her for 45 min.
Somehow he knew I'd have my camera out and looked right at me! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
