This month I challenged everyone to use some of Cosmo Crickets fantastic chipboard! I LOVE their chipboard. It comes in such fun shapes and color and best of all, it sticks SUPER well! You don't have to worry about coming back to that layout in a month and re-gluing the self adhesive chipboard!

Have you ever heard of flarp? Its that little plastic tub of gooey gunk that if you stick your finger in it, it makes a farting sound? Well, this is what happens when a 3 (Peyton was three at the time) gets into it!

This girl LOVES food...I mean she LOVES her food! Haha! :-)

Cosmo Cricket Wanted Altered Wall Decor

I'm a thrift shop and garage sale junky! I'm always looking for things to alter or re-do to work in my house for a fraction of the price of something brand new. While at a local thrift store in December, I came across this:

This isn't the exact one (thank you google images for the picture), but looks just like it! It had a Home Interiors sticker on the back. I picked it up for $4! :-) I instantly had a vision for it!

This was my vision:
My poor camera, I dropped it and the piece that slides out the zoom thingy broke. :-( Luckily Chris was able to fix it, but now the card is locked and won't unlock for me (yes, I have been sliding that dang button back and forth a dozen times trying to get it to unlock). So I had to use my cell phone. :-/ The colors are off, I'm not happy with the pictures. I was just so excited about it that I had to share anyway!

I used black paint as I didn't have any dark brown. I painted a small section on, and then wiped it off with a rag to get a distressed look and let some of the lighter would show through a bit. I got inspiration for the different section from tags and cards from the super talented Jan!

Double Page Layout

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent quite a chunk of time Sunday cleaning and re-organizing my scrap space. I got 2 grocery bags worth of stuff to the trash and have a box of other stuff to get rid of! :-) I love to organize and purge. Now I'm ready to get going on some challenges!

Here is a 2-pager! I haven't done a 2 pager in a LONG time, but I think you will be seeing more and more from me this next year. My goal is to not scrap but my favorite photos. I want to do Project 12 (a 2 page layout every month reviewing the months events and happenings). Along that line too, I'll group many random photos instead of scrapping each one individually!

Miss Maddy...her expression in the third picture just cracks me up! She is so full of personality! When we were trying to get her to walk we'd often say 'ready...set...to...'. She'd yell 'go' with us and try to walk. Peyton was such a good big brother too. He'd sit like we do on the floor and put his arms out and try to get her to walk to him. :-) When trying to get her to walk I got a picture of her curls....oh my her curls. How I love them!
I love me some crochet flowers! :-)

The little miss got a rolling back pack for Christmas. She loves it!
And she is oh so cute pulling it! Here she is ready to go to Mema's house!

Favorite Layouts and Projects from 2010

Happy New Year! Last year I posted my favorite projects from the year and I thought I'd do the same again this year. Its fun to go back and look through all my layouts and projects. **warning....picture heavy post**

And so in no specific order (cause I am too lazy to re-organize them, haha!)...

This layout is very special to my. My Grandpa passed away in December. We got this picture in May or June of him, my dad, my brother and nephew. I used a sketch that the super talented Jill created off of one of my layouts.

This next one was using a kit from Citrus Tree Studio and a sketch from Helen at Scrap A Little.

I had so much fun with this one! I found the faux paper pleating tutorial on line (sorry can't remember where now). The pictures just crack me up!

This is one of my all time favorite layouts. I used a kit from Aphra's Paper Poppies, who I am so sad to say, is no longer making and selling kits.

This was for a challenge on the Cosmo Cricket blog. LOVE that blog! LOVE that company!

I had fun last year creating invitations for Maddy's 1st birthday and Peyton's 4th birthday.

The invitation was printed and cut them out in circles and glued them to the back.

I had a LOT of fun altering frames. This is one of my favorites, unfortunately it broke. :-(

I also altered a bunch of journals for a Christmas Bazaar. These two were hard for me to sell cause I really like how they turned out.

I thought these chicken feeder candy dispensers were very unique and fun!

I also altered a TON of these clips. This one worked perfect in my kitchen for a recipe holder.

Just one that I like. :-)

I had a lot of fun with this one!

I love how this card turned out and used that design on a handful more cards.

I LOVE how this one turned out. This picture has special meaning behind it too. It was taken on my way out to my Grandpa's ranch the Christmas he passed away. :-( The frost was SSSOOO thick and so pretty!

Anyone notice a trend? The majority of my favorite layouts and projects were using Cosmo Cricket! :-) Imagine that? Haha! I just pulled these off of my computer, many of them were for challenges or using sketches, I do have those documented in the original post they showed up on, but didn't take the time to go back and do that today! Hope y'all understand!

Christmas Gifts

I altered this frame for my Grandparents in-law. I used a 3 Bugs in a Rug line that is super cute!

At a Christmas Bazaar we came across a really cute marker and coloring book bag. We didn't like any of the fabric choices so mom decided to make them for all the grandkids for Christmas out of fabrics that better suited the kiddos.

For Maddy, we decided to do a dolly diaper bag. I absolutely LOVE how it came out!
We bought this fabric when I was pregnant I think and have been trying to figure out what to make with it. This bag was PERFECT!
Mom also used the same fabrics to make my niece a coloring book tote.

Here is the tote she made Peyton.
Of course, using super cute dino fabric!
I absolutely LOVE how these came out. She did a fabulous job! No patterns, just winged it. Can you believe that? I sure wish I could sew like her.

Last Minute Layout

Anyone else still in recovery mode? I feel like I'm just running circles right now! We had a great Christmas and I hope you all did too!

The ever talented Jill created a sketch off of one of my layouts. You can see the sketch here. I used her sketch to create another layout! I decided to scrap a layout for my dad for Christmas. My Grandpa recently passed away and I had this fabulous photo of my dad, his dad and my brother and nephew, 4 generations. It was such a great and special photo.

My apologies for the crooked picture. I used a Fancy Pants line that I LOVE, it seemed to go with the photo really well. I LOVE the burlappy type material I found at a little local store a while back. It adds such a fun texture to the layout!

Well, I hope to scrap sometime soon. I have a lot to get done this week, so we'll see how much time I get! Thanks for stopping by!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is my Christmas card this year!

I found this super cute free digital card at Memory Makers Magazine. I didn't have the right photo editing program to insert the picture and get the swirls over the top. So my SUPER TALENTED friend Karen created this for me! Thanks Karen!

The picture was taken at my Brother in laws wedding over the summer! The photographer was Senneh Patterson O'Reilly of Heirloom Images Photography. I thought she did a great job!

I saw this on a friends blog, their kiddos wishlists. It made me think about Peytons wishlist. Oh that boy, I tell you. I asked him what he wanted and his comment was 'everything, all those things I told you!'. We'd be out shopping and from the time he spotted something he would be constant jabber. Something along the lines of 'oh, oh,oh...can I put that on my Christmas Wishlist? I've ALWAYS wanted that'. lol...
