A Hike To Remember Layout using Jillibean Soup

I have another double pager to share today! I had a TON of picture from this day so I decided to create a two-page layout. I found a sketch over at Sketch Support (sketch #18). Amy has a yummy color combo challenge up this month at Birds of a Feather. I thought of the May BOAF kit that I absolutely LOVE!

I really like all the additional pieces Jillibean Soup offers and so glad Amy put them in the kit. It makes layering and embellishing super easy.

These picture were from a very special hike. My Grandpas property extends up onto Haystack Butte. This is where we have my Grandma, Uncle and Aunts ashes spread. The whole family hiked up to the top to spread my Grandpa's ashes with the rest of the family. It was quite a hike. The views were incredible.

Thanks for stopping by! Check back soon! I'm participating in a blog hop this week that is sure to offer lots of eye candy! If your around this weekend, hop over to Birds of a Feather. We are having a birthday crop! I'd love to see you come join us!

The Great Outdoors Layout using October Afternoon Campfire Line

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was able to finish up this layout at the end of last week. My long lost twin, Karen, won this super duper cute Campfire October Afternoon line of of Julie Bonner's blog (or at least I think it was Julie's blog). She knew it would be perfect for me and being as sweet as she is, had it sent to me! :-0 I have the BEST EVER scrappy friends I tell ya!
A while back I won a fabulous Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 7 from Allison Davis's site, Sketch Support. If you haven't checked out her site yet, your missing out! They have one incredible design team and fabulous sketches (2 pagers, 1 pagers, cards and more!).
I used a sketch from the book for this layout!
Again, I'm going to back to using more photos on a two pager. Haha, I just noticed one of my little words has moved in the journaling spot! I better go check that its still there!

The journaling goes a little something like this: This is my favorite camp spot. It is only about 15-20 minutes from our house. There is an old Ranger Station, a outhouse (still shocked that an outhouse would have two seats in it!!!) and a little creek that ran near it. Peyton is getting old enough he now gets to help by dragging wood/kindling for the campfire. Maddy wanted to do whatever Peyton did. Both LOVED going down to the creek and roasting marshmallows. The picture of the calf, well, it apparently wanted to race us. The rest of it friends wandered off down the hill. But not him, he kept running up the hill! It was pretty funny!

Last week, one evening, the sun decided to come out for a bit. So we took off for a little walk and took the kids to the creek. It is so full right now, actually loud enough too that we can hear it from our house at night if we are outside.
Of course it wouldn't be going to the creek if we didn't throw rock after rock after rock in the creek.
The kiddos searching for rocks. I thought I should take my lawn chair down there next time. The kids could play for HOURS and it would be a nice break. Although I think I'd have to tie a rope around Maddy to myself as she has no fear!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Lil' ManLayout

I created this layout based off of a Sketch Support sketch for a Paper Variety Challenge. I'm tellin' ya. If you haven't listened to me yet and haven't checked out Sketch Support...your missin' out! I used some Cosmo Cricket from my stash. Imagine that! This is the Lil' Man line.
Sketch Supports challenge was to stitch on your layout, card or project.
Stitching came naturally on this layout! I used some liquid glass over a few of the balls and their stitched path, although you can't tell it from the photo. I kept it fairly simple cause I couldn't figure out what else to do! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by! I so do appreciate you checking out my blog and leaving me comments!

Sketch Support Layout using Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride

I am absolutely LOVING Sketch Support! Its overflowing with inspiration and talent! I used this sketch for the following layout!

Miss Maddy's first big boo boo, her first shiner too! She took her glider rocker on head first and lost. :-( I'm not sure if Peyton assisted in the match, but I kinda have that Mommy hunch he was! ;-) You can't see it too well in the photos, but it did look pretty bad. Side note: I'm not overly happy with my camera....its colors seem off and kinda dark. :-(
I layered and popped up some chipboard and stitched a border on. Cosmo Cricket has THE BEST chipboard! It sticks SO WELL!

These pictures were from a few weekends ago at my Grandpas Memorial Service. My mom bought the girls (Maddy and my niece) matching dresses and the boys their dressy outfits for Christmas in hopes of a nice picture of all the grandkids. Well, only Peyton made it into his outfit. So we thought we'd get them to wear their outfits to the service.
Maddy wanted nothing to do with the picture and nothing to do with the nursery at the church. :-( Chris ended up missing the majority of the service thanks to Maddy's great vocal abilities! ;-)
Isn't he adorable? Yep, he is one BUSY boy! He loves to go go go go!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I wanted to let you know I'm taking a little break and won't be posting next week! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and week!

Maddy's 1st Birthday layout, Giveaway, Winner

I am LOVING Birds of a Feather. Its such a fabulous site! Amy is as sweet as can be and creates fantastic kits. One thing I really like about them, she puts two of a lot of the double sided papers in the kit! :-) Anyhow, this is my take on the January Sketch Challenge:

I'm not overly sure I like this layout. lol...I really wanted to use the large ladybug as it was the invitation I made for her 1st birthday. I think its just too big and the wrong color of red. lol...

I've mentioned this new site that I LOVE. I mean, its topping my fave blog list at the moment. Its Sketch Support. Well, the ever so talented Jill is on the DT there and has a fabulous giveaway posted on her blog! Hurry and go check it out. Its a sketch book jam packed full of fabulous sketches! :-)

Now onto my giveaway.......the winner by random drawing is........MARA! I'll contact you soon!

I gotta share these pictures. They crack me up. I read on some blog, a fellow scrapper was having troubles with her daughter stripping in her crib. This led to many middle of the night issues of wetting the bed, being cold, etc. So she put her footed pj's on backwards. I LOVED this idea. See, the little miss....is quite independent. She can change her clothes for the most part on her own. I don't know why, but she likes to take her pj's off. Then her diaper...then she wets the bed....and we keep our house cooler....and its just a pain in our rear. The result...Chris waits for her to go to sleep and then goes in and puts her pj's back on! Lol....So this is my solution:

Notice anything missing on the front?
Yep, its on the back.....heehee! She doesn't see to mind at all either! :-)

New Sketch Site & Journaling Challenge

**Don't forget to check out my giveaway here**

Over at Birds of a Feather, Amy challenged us to journal about a resolution we've made this year. I normally don't make them, I'm not a big fan of them at New Years time. Although I do try to do them through out the year as I see things that need to change. I've been trying to do this one for a while, but so glad for Amy's challenge to push me to scrap about it.

A close up of the journaling so I don't have to retype it all! :-)
Kids grow up to fast, I know in a blink of an eye, Peyton won't be asking me to sit on my lap and hold him, he won't be asking me too play games with him, he won't be telling me 'your beautiful Mommy and I love you' (doesn't that just melt your heart...he does that on a regular basis all on his own). I want to enjoy every second of it! Same with Maddy, she has been quite clingy lately and wants you to hold her a lot. It can be frustrating when your trying to get something done. Its hard for me to let it go and just hold her, but I'm working on that really hard!

I came across this new site and am ABSOLUTELY LOVING it! Yep, y'all gotta check it out! Its called Sketch Support. Every week they have a different sketch. One week is a one page sketch, one week a two page sketch, one week a card sketch and one week a free for all sketch. Then each day of the week they post DT's takes on those sketches. They have one talented DT too! DEFINITELY worth the time to check it out, so much inspiration their!
