Mother's Day Gifts

Both of my Step Grandma's love cards. Not knowing what else to get them, I make them cards!

Aphra at Paper Poppy Kit Co. posted some fantastic card sketches a while back. I printed them and put them into my inspiration binder. Here are the cards I created. I used Basic Grey paper and SRM stickers.

New Challenge Blog and Paper Poppy Kit Co

Christina from Scrap It With A Song stopped by my blog. I had to check it out as I love a good challenge blog AND I love using music as inspiration. I also frequent the Paper Poppy Kit Co. blog. They currently have a challenge up to scrap lift a layout from their gallery! Easy as that! So here is the layout I chose to lift created by Aphra...
And here is my take on the layout! I used some of the song lyrics from Scrap It With A Son for help with inspiration. I swear the word 'fan' looks good in real life, it looks like the color is totally off in the pictures.
A little close up of the flower I made using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. The flourish is a Revolution die cut. I've been dying to use this flower I found in a pack of three at the Dollar Tree.
There you have it! If you haven't checked out Scrap It With Song or Paper Poppy Kit Co., what are you waiting for?

NSD Card and Layout

I was able to do a couple layouts and a card for the National Scrapbook Day challenges over the weekend. There was a challenge at Citrus Tree Studio to use a banner. I created this card:

The patterned papers are Imaginisce. The cute little fox is an Imaginisce stamp and I used Tombow markers to color it in. I left it blank cause sometimes its nice just to have a card with no sentiment.

I joined Creative Cookbooking . Karen posted a fantastic 2-page sketch. I couldn't come up with enough photos to make a 2-pager so I squeezed the sketch down to a one page layout. Here Maddy is taking her first bite of a hamburger. It still cracks me up how she loves to eat hamburgers.
Most of the patterned papers are My Minds Eye. I'm not overly happy with the layout, but can't figure out what I don't like about it, so just left it the way it is. :-)

A few photos of the crazy munchkins...

Cosmo Cricket NSD Sketch Challenge

Cosmo Cricket posted some fun challenges on their blog on Saturday (National Scrapbook Day). One of them was a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch by Gudrun Loennecken.

Here is my take on the layout.

I had to google folded airplane instructions. :-D Chris laughed at me, but for the life of me I couldn't remember.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to stop back by soon. I have a handful of other project to share. I'm also participating in a blog hop Sunday to celebrate Creative Cuts & More's new site!

Cosmo Cricket....I'm in LOVE

I have played with the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line for some time now. I just can't seem to get enough of it! My only problem now, I've run out of it! Thank goodness for a little birthday money so I can replenish my stock. They also have Early Bird fabric now! How cool is that? I have decided to decorate my kitchen using Early Bird products.

While visiting the talented Melonie's blog, I saw a very fun idea I just knew I wanted to try. I took an old frame I had and altered it. Instead of a picture inside, I put a solid piece of cardstock.

It is my dry erase menu board. I have started meal planning. I list out enough meals for two weeks. It matches my little recipe mini album from Creative Cuts And More that I made. I glued a little magnet to the side of the frame as the dry erase pen came with a magnet on it. This way its sort of hidden and I won't accidentally lose it.
I'm in love with these flowers. They are so much fun! And doesn't the patterned paper make the best leaves for the flowers?
While at a get together with some friends, the hostess had this bottle of beer out on her counter. I loved that it had my last name on it and even better yet, it goes with the early bird line! I may just have to pick up a few extra as I love the looks of the bottle!
The menu board is one of my favorite projects. I had so much fun making it. I am thinking about making ones for the kids rooms too!
