Another Paper Variety Challenge Layout

The Paper Variety's challenge this week is up, go here to see it! I've had this My Minds Eye paper for a bit and have been wanting to use it.
The first time I caught Maddy climbing I knew I was in deep deep trouble. haha! She is quite the climber and standing on top of the coffee table dancing as I type. Yes, nothing is safe in this house anymore! I lifted a layout I saw a long time ago for a Scrap A Little Challenge. The scrappers name was Kim.

Thanks for stopping by!

Maddy at 8 Months Bo Bunny Layout

Are you shocked? I created a layout using something other than Cosmo Cricket! haha!
I used the new Christmas Bo Bunny line. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple and green!
I did a little doodling. I also matted the tiny type alpha stickers. This wasn't my idea...I saw it on another blog but have no clue where. If it was your blog, please tell me so I can credit you!
I made a few pipe cleaner flowers and folded some ribbon for leaves/fluff.
A close up of the journaling.

A few weekends ago Chris played in a golf tournament fundraiser for our local hospital out a a nearby resort. We attend a handful of fundraisers throughout the year out there and have yet to take the kids with us. If you stay there, they give you free passes to the pool. So we decided to take the kids on the last visit. I thought Peyton would LOVE it. But the silly boy wouldn't go in further than his chest, even with a floaty, even with Chris and I holding him.
Maddy on the other hand....would do whatever and go wherever! I had a underwater camera...man...look how bad the pictures came out and I noticed they were all off center...hmm....
They had a good sized kiddy area/shallow end. They even had a cute little mini slide for the kids not old enough to go on the bigger slide. Even with bribes we couldn't get Peyton to try it!

Thanks for stopping by! I took a bunch of pictures of my attempt at fall decorating I was going to share and also have a few other projects to share, so check back soon!

Bad picture taking....Cosmo Cricket Layout

So I think the kids have done something with my camera. It didn't matter where I took a picture of this layout, it came out horrible. I keep catching Peyton and Maddy both playing with my camera. Apparently the center of a table is no longer a safe place for it.

I had originally started this layout for my Cosmo Cricket challenge at Scrapbook.com to use two different lines from Cosmo Cricket. Everything but the cardstock and staples is from their new Mitten Weather line except the cardstock and the green scalloped piece is from their Earth Love line.
Maddy discovered my CC stash one day. It didn't matter how I tried to side track her, she tried her best to get it! A girl after my own heart. :-) I love the progression of pictures. In the first one I can just picture her thinking, 'oh thats pretty....I want to play with it too, should I or shouldn't I...mommy says no, but man...it is just screaming at me to play with'. Then the second one shows her decision and the third is the 'what...me?' look! haha!
I misted the base just to give it some flair. I also cut out a logo from one of their little catalogs or papers (cant' remember...sorry) sot hat the tag would read 'All I want for Christmas is Cosmo Cricket'. I finally got my hands on a long reach stapler so I added a few staples here and there and went over them very lighting with Stickles.

This is a site often found at our house. Piles of dinosaurs, dinos lining the window seal, dinos marching across the room, dino piles...ya get the picture!

Cosmo Cricket Layout

I've been running like crazy lately and haven't had much scrappy time! I'm running out of projects to share! This month doesn't look to promising either! But, I do have this one to share today:
Everything is Cosmo Cricket except the chipboard letters (can't remember what they are) and the little wood 'no swimming' embellie. I used a sketch I found on the My Minds Eye blog! I loved that it allowed for numerous photos and how the title was arrange.

Thanks for stopping by!

And the winner is....

Thanks to everyone who left comments on this post. Live 2 Scrapook is such a great on-line store to shop at! Don't forget to check her out and use the 15% off code she gave me, kp910. Its good through the month of October! Without further ado......The random winner is: Miss Jill Sarginson! Please e-mail me your addy at mustangkayla (at) hotmail (dot) com and I'll get the fun chipboard out to you next week!

I have been working on Christmas Bazaar items. One thing I decided to make was these fun little accordion mini's in a tin. This was actually a gift card holder I had received last year. It was a tester to see if I'd like it or not. I now am on the hunt for gift card holder tins! :-)

I used some My Minds Eye paper I had. I kept it fairly simple as I wanted to leave plenty of room for pictures. I thought these would make great gifts. My mom mentioned liking them cause she could have pictures of the grandkids and keep it in her purse safely without damaging the photos!

Thats it for me! I hope you have a great weekend and stop back by soon!

The Paper Variety Challenge

**I'll give you to Friday night to enter my giveaway found here.**

Last week I shared a new challenge blog I came across called The Paper Variety. Here is this weeks challenge:
It sounded like a lot of fun so I set to it! This is what I came up with:
I lifted a layout by the very talented Jill Sarginson. I just love this Bo Bunny line, but sadly, this was the last bits and pieces. Other than a few stickers I have left over! As for the title, it came from the movie Lucky Seven. I came across that movie a couple years ago and its a great scrapbooking chick flick! The pictures have nothing to do with the theme of the title, the word 'lucky' just stood out to me!

Wild thing....Maddy's hair totally goes with her personality! Its outa control! :-O Yep...I can get it into pig tales, although often lopsided and uneven. This seems to be an hourly activity as she pulls them out the first time she is outa site of me! I need to take a lesson on how to do her hair.
Peyton is on a dinosaur kick. We can't have enough dinosaurs, dinosaur books, dinosaur stickers, dinosaur shirts...ya get the point! I have been luck!y enough to find a bunch at garage sales over the summer.

New Challenge Blog Layout

In my blog hopping I came across a new blog called The Paper Variety. They posted their first challenge, a sketch! Up for grabs to one random lucky scrapper is none other than a faboo kit from Paper Poppy Kit Company! Yeppers... the challenge moved to the TOP of my list! :-) If you want to enter, head on over to The Paper Variety real quick as the challenge ends tomorrow (Tuesday).

So here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it (the colors don't look as off in real life as they do on here):
Guess what line I used? Yep, Pixie-Licious from Cosmo Cricket of course! It went with her outfit so darn well how could I resist?
I did some distressing. Even distressed the photo! I also did some doodling cause my sewing machine is broken and I'm too darn lazy to do it all by hand! For the title I wanted large chipboard alphas. So I found some in my stash and inked them. It didn't look right so I painted them. Still didn't look right, so I doodled on them. Still doesn't look like I'd want it too but I was running out of patience!

So check back soon! I have a faboo on-line store to tell you about!

Technology Issues

Chris was in a golf tournament Friday and we decided to stay the night where it was at and take the kids to the big pool there on Saturday. We got back from our night away to no Internet service. I was quite frustrated and decided to call the Internet provider. I spent over an hour on the phone with them. Then this morning I go to log into my e-mail and am not able to access it. I tell ya, I have no patience for it! Oh and my main laptop can't access Internet. It has all my photos on it. So it made it hard to get pictures for a post.

The place we went was a resort on a nearby reservation. They have lots of wild horses there. I have seen them out there before, but never at the resort! Peyton thought it sssoooo cool. They came up within 5 feet of our window! Peyton named them Fred and Lightning McQueen! Haha!

I normally don't do 2-pager layouts. But decided to give it a try. I'm not sure what I think about it. I get such a kick out of Peyton and some of his ideas and things he does. Like this morning as we were headed into his preschool we had a cute little conversation.

P: Mommy do you smell that?
M: No, what do you smell?
P: I don't know...I can't smell anything cause the sky is too froggy!

How cute is that? He was a little plugged up this morning and couldn't smell anything.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to get my technological issues in order and be able to post again soon!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. September Challenge

Paper Poppy posted their September challenge a while ago. It was a sketch, but not only was it the sketch, they challenged you to use three different edges. Here is my take on the challenge:
I love the pleated look, so much fun! I hadn't done i t in a while so thought this the perfect time to do it again.
The colors don't look right, I'm not sure if its due to little hands adjusting the settings on my camera or just bad lighting.
I thought I'd share a few pictures that give you a glimpse into my every day life. Here Peyton walked into the family room and asked if I wanted to play baseball with him. haha! He's got a medal around his neck and safari hat on and he's ready!
Here the Little Miss just got out of a bath. She came a streakin' in the living room as fast as her little legs would take her just a giggling all the way. She ran right to the bouncy horse and hopped on!

Creative Cuts & More Cancer Awareness Blog Hop

Hello! I'm participating in a blog hop today, so if you just came directly to my blog, please make sure to head over to Die Cut Diva where the hop begins! The girls have some wonderful projects to share that you won't want to miss!

This months theme is cancer awareness. Creative Cuts & More will donate 20% of all sales of Awareness Ribbon products in September and October!! They will be donating half of the proceeds to American Cancer Society and the other half to Susan G Koman Breast Cancer Foundation. Wasn't Holly's project great? With out further ado, here is my project. I decided to make a simple card.
This is the Awareness Ribbon Window Square Scallop Card - Horizontal.
I put rhinestones in the peaks of the scallops. If you open the card, you'll see a big heart. I held the front down and used Stickles to fill in the ribbon shape.
On the inside, I boo-b00ed (*gasp*...I know!!!!). So I covered it up by layering with a piece of pink cardstock, then white on top of that. I then took the heart and adhered it to a piece of BoBunny paper and cut out a larger heart. After I did all that I did the stickling.
Make sure to check out the Awareness Ribbon section at Creative Cuts & More. Terry has mini albums, ribbons, cards and more!

Now hop on over to Melisa's blog!
If you run into a link that is not working, no fear, hop back to Die Cut Diva where there is a list of all the blogs participating!

Peyton's First Day of Preschool & Creative Cuts & More Mini Album

Peyton started preschool last week. He was so excited for it to start! He is not an early riser and takes FOREVER to wake up. But he pops right out of bed for school! Can you believe I had to put a jacket on him? Yeah...it was a cold morning!
And here he is walking into the school.
We searched and searched for a dinosaur backpack but haven't been able to find one. Luckily he LOVES this backpack and was okay using it till we can find a dinosaur one.
He won't eat at home, but he eats the snacks at school. The first day consisted of grapes (which we took), Cheezits and apple juice. He had fun playing with Hunter and Emily. He is so funny. It takes a lot of pushing to get answers out of him. When I asked if he wanted to go back the next day he quickly nodded yes (remember...it takes alot to get him to talk about school).

I wanted to make something for his teachers, who are as sweet as can be. I decided to make a mini. Creative Cuts & More has this really cute mini I have been wanting to try so I figured it a perfect timing! I decided to get individual pieces instead of a set. I didn't want dividers, just pages. So I used the Scallop Wrap Cover, 2 album covers and 6 individual pages.
I used lots of piece from my stash as well as a kit from Citrus Tree Studio.
I used magnets to keep the cover one. See the little stars? I fussy cut those from a piece of patterned paper and adhered them to the magnets.I thought this little apple just perfect for the cover!
I tried to keep it really simple and non-bulky. I wanted the teachers to be able to slip 4x6 photos right in it!

Products used: Creative Cuts & More 6x6 Album Page, Creative Cuts & More 6x6 Album Cover, Creative Cuts & More 6x6 Scallop Wrap Cover, Basic Grey Magnetic Snaps, My Minds Eye Paper, Making Memories Paper, Bo Bunny Paper, Basic Grey Magnets, Fancy Pants Chipboard, American Crafts Paper and Thickers, Fiskars Border Punch, Unkown carstock scraps, buttons & ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by! Check back tomorrow, I am participating in a blog hop!
Oh, and word to the wise...disposable pull ups ARE NOT washable! haha! Yeah...I don't recommend trying it. Although I did learn they can hold A LOTof liquid! haha!

Pack rat saga continues!

And the pack rat saga continues! haha! Well, its not really funny, more frustrating, but ya gotta find humor in the frustrating things to keep sane, right? A lot of you mentioned you hadn't heard of a pack rat. Well, here is a link to Wikipedia's definition of a pack rat: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pack_rat

So we thought we had rid ourselves of the nasty little thing. Well we were wrong! Chris went to start the truck Saturday morning and it made a horrible sound and died! Yikes...of course my first thought is 'here we go again' and 'I wonder if the Ford dealership charges to tow less than a mile....' Chris got out and went to lift up the hood and noticed the little bugger under the truck! Yep, he got taken out by the fan! It was GROSS! We had rat organs on our driveway! haha! But at least we know its dead right??? But that didn't help the truck restart. :-( Nope...Chris got the idea to take a fuel can and get more diesel as the guy we bought it from mentioned that fuel gauge was a little off. It said their was a quarter of a tank left, but it worth a try before paying to have it towed. Yep, that was the problem, no diesel. Chris poured some in and started it up and was on his way! I was SSSOOO glad that the rat hadn't chewed any wires or holes in anything else!

Now on to some scrappy inspiration. Helen at Scrap A Little came out with a new sketch at the beginning of the month.
This is my take on it:
This is Peyton with his Uncle Coco! Peyton LOVES to play games and tries to sucker everyone who comes through the front door to play a game with him.
