Scrap It With Song Layout

This weeks song at Scrap It With A Song is Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. It just so happens the picture below was next in my pile. I wasn't sure where to go and then I saw the challenge and an idea jumped into my head.
This was my take on the challenge. I have seen a few layouts with this basic idea design idea. I have been wanting to give it a try.
Wendy, her blog is called My Ordinary Life, has really inspired me to do this little layer of embellies! She has some really really cool projects on her blog. I've been eyeing them for a while and decided this was the perfect layout to try them it out!
We have this roller coaster. My mom and dad are good sports and let us keep it at their house as we don't have room at our house. The kids really have enjoyed it this summer. Maddy says 'weeeeee' when she sees it, rides it or wants to ride it!'

More Altered Magnetic Boards and Altered Notebooks

Man have I ever been busy this past month! I haven't had hardly any time to get crafty. I did get a few minutes the other night and instead of scrapbooking I got a jump start on my crafts I hope to sell.

I love my Cosmo Cricket Magnetic board so much that I copied it. I just LOVE that yellow ribbon and need to find some more of it in more colors!

Here is another one I made:

I found these really cute journals and new instantly they would be fun to cover.

The blue and orange one is using Scenic Route papers, the next one is Bo Bunny papers and the bottom one is My Minds Eye papers!

The kids always seem to crack me up. Maddy loves to sit on this tub next to Peyton. I'm not sure why, but it cracks me up!
This is the sweet little miss first thing in the morning! I love her wild hair and big toothy grin!

Thanks for stopping by!

Basic Grey Summer Layout

I have been super busy lately getting ready for a garage sale.
I made this layout for a couple challenges. One over at this site, the challenge being use Basic Grey papers. Then the other challenge was at Citrus Tree, challenge being summer colors.

This was such a fun and quick layout. The pictures absolutely crack me up. Last 4th of July it was pretty hot. So we pulled out the slip n slide for Peyton. He was too chicken to try it so Chris decided to show him out it was done. haha! Yep...I missed getting a picture of his first run. He got a good running start thinking he wouldn't be able to slide all the way to the end. Boy was he wrong...he went soaring over the end and sliding into the grass! Haha!
The green is the negative of a sticker I cut around, thought it looked kinda fun! The flowers and circles were cut from a Basic Grey sticker strip.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Cosmo Cricket Wanted Altered Magnetic Board

I came across this idea at a craft store a while back. They are so much fun to make. Its a magnetic board. I covered it with Cosmo Cricket Wanted paper (the 'happiness' piece is from BoBunny). I punched two holes through the top with a friends Big Bite and tied ribbon on for the hanger.
I love these magnets too. So simple to make! I hope to be able to make a bunch of these and participate in a Christmas Bazaar.
My Grandmother-in-law found these neat computer games at a garage sale! Yep, I think my addiction is spreading! :-) He has a Tonka and a Thomas the Train.
The driving piece puts on the keyboard and as you move the parts it pushes down keys to interact with the program. Pretty neat if you ask me and Peyton LOVES them! Heck, I was having fun with a couple games on there! haha!

The little miss looks so big here, sitting in a restaurant booth next to her Papa. She has found a love to draw/write/color/scribble/whatever ya call it already! She can spot pens quicker than quick!

Cosmo Cricket Togetherness Layout

I am hosting the Cosmo Cricket challenge over at scrapbook.com! You can check it out here! This month I decided challenge everyone to fussy cut! Cosmo Cricket has such fantastic patterns and images that I thought we should take advantage and cut them out! Come on over and play along! Their is a prize! Cosmo Cricket will be sendidng the winner some goodies!
Isn't the new Togetherness line cute? This is my cousin and her two girls. They get to come visit once a year (definitely not enough). These pictures are from last year.
Here is card I made for this site. We were challenged to create a card using only Cosmo Cricket papers! The pieces were cut from a little CC catalog!

I'm way behind on posting photos. The same cousin above came recently for a week and stayed with my mom. I took the kids over and we camped in our trailer outside of my moms house for a few days so we could get plenty of time with them.

Thank goodness for a double jogger with so many little kids around!
Here Peyton is talking and staring at my nephew, Jaymeson.

This is another cousins little boy and Maddy eating lunch in the stroller! Maddy is only 6 months older, but look how huge she looks!
They caught a frog! They also spent a TON of time in the pool!
I have learned to just take her shirt off when eating, much easier than fighting a bib.
Leapsters....they were lifesavers. Both kids LOVED playing them and it made for a perfect calm/resting activity. If you don't have one for your kids, I highly recommend it...they are the best! I found a set on Craigslist, two game units and 8 games for $30! That is one heck of a steal!
We had so much fun together! Their stay is never quite long enough.

SRM & Cosmo Cricket Card

SRM Stickers and Cosmo Cricket have teamed up for some fantastic inspiration. SRM posted a sketch challenge here.
This is the sketch.

This is my take on the sketch using Togetherness from Cosmo Cricket and an SRM sticker.
Thanks for stopping by! I have more Cosmo Cricket projects to share with you soon!

Another layout and some pictures

I'm not overly happy with this layout, but am calling it good. I think I used a sketch, but can't remember. So if this looks like a sketch you created, please let me know so I can give you the proper credit. I really need to write the sketches I used on the back of layouts as sometimes its a while before I post them here or elsewhere and I forget. *update - I remember what sketch I used now, it was one from KariAnn Sweeney.
I was downloading pictures from my camera and came across these. Peyton had taken them. They crack me up and show a little glimpse of our typical day and whats important to Peyton. He LOVES his cards and LOVES his sister. I think Maddy is going to hate him for this picture one day! haha!
I was trying to figure out how to do the journaling and title and that darn sticker went down and wouldn't come back up. So, even though I don't like it its there. I've been having fun with acrylic shapes lately. I painted the edges of the star to make it stand out more.
Back in July I took the kids to the local fair in my hometown. A friends little girl came along and it was just perfect as she was older and rode rides Peyton didn't want to ride alone. Peyton LOVED the animals, especially the rabbits.
They had a area set up in the pavilion that had all sorts of fun science activities for the kids.
The picture below cracks me up...I love how Maddy has her lips puckered out. My mom was able to come with me and was a HUGE help!
They had a little farm area with an apple tree you could pick, hens that laid eggs (fake of course) and a cow that you could milk. The kids were pretty intrigued by the cow.
All the action and the heat (man was it a scorcher that day) knocked Maddy out!
The Fish & Wildlife Dept. set up this really cool pond for the kids to fish!

Fish-On

I have been trying to use up all of a kit or line at a time, rather than leaving a few little pieces that are hard to store. Everything in this layout is from a Citrus Tree Studio kit except the twine and cardstock.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Peyton.

I cut little pieces of patterned paper and glued them on the journaling spot to jazz it up a bit.

This was my first banner! I'm a little behind times I guess! Haha!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap It With Song Winner and Picture

I was 6 days away from internet! I was able to get e-mail on my cell phone and do a blog post from my parents computer but that was it! Yikes, did I ever have some catching up to do! As I was going through the blogs I follow I found this...

Yep! I was lucky enough to win last weeks challenge (using the song This Kiss as inspiration) on Scrap It With Song. If you haven't checked out the blog yet, you should! I love getting inspiration from music so this challenge blog is right up my alley. I have since gone in and journaled around the sun rays but am too lazy to retake pictures. All the paper are Fancy Pants.

So what did I do while I was away from internet? Well, I have so many pictures to share I'll have to break it up into two different posts. First off we went to our local fair. I was very excited to see that they had pony rides. Peyton jumped at the chance to ride one and then kept asking to ride it again.
He takes it pretty seriously. The guy at the ticket booth asked if Maddy was going to ride. I didn't think they would let her, so was excited she got a chance at it. One time around and she threw my hand back at me and wanted to ride it herself!
I should have zoomed in for ya...sorry!
Of course, we had to get a popsicle. Here Peyton is very sweetly sharing it with the Little Miss.
I think she liked it! haha!
We also hiked Haystack Butte. My Grandpa passed away on Christmas morning and we wanted to spread his ashes up on top. We did the same with my Grandma, Uncle and Aunts ashes.
Because the Butte is a little behind my Grandpas ranch, we drove up to the base of the butte.

I zoomed in on the mountains to the west of the butte. Its kinda smokey as we recently had a large wildland fire in the area.
This is the view from the top. Isn't it pretty?

Here I zoomed in so you can see my Grandpas ranch/homestead that has been in the family for roughly 150 years. Its the buildings on the left hand side, middle of the photo. My grandpa was born and raised here and so was my mom.
Its a special place thats for sure!
I'll be back soon with more pictures and more projects! Thanks for stopping by!
