Color Challenge

Citrus Tree Studio had a challenge this month to use the colors red, yellow and blue. Here is my take on the challenge and in my true form lately, a horrible picture of the layout. I had a few random pictures from last summer I wanted to scrap, so I put them all together. I just LOVE this Basic Grey line. Its so cute and fun! This was a very quick and simple layout.

I hope you all have a fun weekend planned!

My Father's Day Creative Cuts & More Project using Cosmo Cricket

I have another Creative Cuts & More project to share with you today. I have seen this idea some where in blog land and am lifting it. Truth be told I've seen it a handful of times and that is why I can't pin point the exact blog or site I saw it on.

This is a fish tackle box (somewhat funny story about it below).
What else could I possibly use but the fabulous Cosmo Cricket? The Boyfriend line was just perfect. All the papers are from Cosmo Cricket as well as the sentiment. The sentiment is on the Antique Label from CC&M. Terry at CC&M has a fun new die cut, the Scalloped Rectangle Frame that I had cut in velvet! I also had the Moose cut in velvet. If you need specific colors let me know...I can definitely track them down! The velvet was very fun to work with and added a little flair.
I plan on filling it with little candies, but thought I'd wait a little closer to Father's day so they would be fresh!
I hope you enjoyed my project today! This was very quick and easy to do! I think they make great gifts for any occasion or even just because! I saw one filled with paper clips, erasers and such for a teachers and thought that a great idea!
Now for the funny story, or at least I find it funny. A handful of years ago Chris let me know he got us tickets to the Ducks Unlimited fundraiser dinner. I wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up having a lot of fun. It was my lucky night, not only did a win a fishing tackle box (who would have thought you could win scrapbooking storage containers at a Ducks Unlimited benefit?), but I also won a G.L. Loomis fishing rod and a rifle! Yep...all those and all it cost me was $5 to play one game (which won me the rifle)! I was his lucky charm! I told him he needed to take me back every year so HE could win more toys! :)

If I don't post again before the weekend, I hope everyone has a fantastic and SAFE Memorial Day weekend!

Creative Cuts & More Layout

Here is a layout showcasing some of my fun die cuts from Creative Cuts & More . The large scalloped circle, the small scallop circle frame which was cut from tacky tape and I used Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter on, and the Doodlebug Lilac Jewels all came from Creative Cuts & More.

I got the above picture and realized I forgot to stitch on it like I had wanted. So I stitched real quick and took another picture. Look how much better the first picture is! Same spot...just an hour difference...so frustrating.
I like the stitching...just wish the picture would have come out better! Ugh...
Here is a close up of the scalloped circle frame out of tacky tape. I put it on purple cardstock, cut around it and sprinkled it with white Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter. It was the perfect base for my flower!

These two cuties are my cousins girls. Peyton has been asking for them daily, wondering when they are going to come and visit. We only get to see them once a year. I wish we lived closer and/or airfare was a TON cheaper so that we could see each other more often. Once a year just isn't enough.
Other products used on my layout: Butterfly (not sure of the brand, I got it from the Dollar Tree), Bazzill cardstock (from CC&M), Basic Grey Paper (thank you Tammy), American Crafts Thickers, DMC Floss, Prima Flowers, Unknown Flowers, Colorbox Chalk Ink.
This layout was also for a Sewing challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio.

Where did the warm days go?

Well folks, I haven't had hardly any scrappy time the last few days and it looks like this is my last layout to share! So I may just not post all that much this week! I also haven't been taking many pictures and just don't have much to share.

Here is a layout I did for a challenge over at Citrus Tree Studio. Pam (I think it was Pam) challenged us to cut it out and pop it up. I love to fussy cut and love pop dots so this was right up my alley. I have had these pictures of Peyton and his cousin for a while. This scenic route line Helen sent me was just perfect. Sorry for the bad picture. Peyton got ahold of my camera and it hasn't been the same since. :-/
I used a sketch by Julie Bonner.
Here I cute the flower and leaves out, then another flower and turned it a bit to add a nice layered look.

Where did the warm weather go? It wasn't but a week ago I took the kids to the park.

This was a nice little park. It had the fake grass and was REALLY nice for little Maddy as she could crawl around and if she fell it didn't hurt her. I hope the warmer days come back real soon.
And just cause I got to hold him yesterday, here is a picture of my new little nephew. Oh...I could just eat him he's so cute! Does anyone else say that? It scares Peyton when I tell him that. :-D
Yep, and look at those little feet.....

He has the longest little skinny legs, arms, fingers and toes!

Landscaping

Chris took off Friday morning to get our first load of sod. We thought the trailer could handle three pallets, but as it turned out it could only handle two. When we bought my truck it came with a rack system thing in the back. We also have a toolbox in the back and because of those we weren't able to put a load in the bed of the truck. So, Chris dropped of the trailer, popped the toolbox out and went for the third pallet.

Peyton was SO excited he instantly started playing on the pieces we were laying.
So here is the before....
And here it is after...
I carved a little area out where we are going to build it up and plant a tree and some flowers. I also plan on laying some pavers and building up a little flower bed in front of the front porch.
Chris got the front and side done on Friday and then took off Saturday morning for the final two pallets of sod and finished up the side and back yards.

Here is the backyard before...
And after...
Before...
And after....
Its hard to see, but in the back corner we have a 3 tiered water fountain. We plan on planting some flowers around that area too.
It went a lot quicker than I had thought. I helped a tiny bit in the front, but because of Miss Maddy wasn't able to help much. There is still so much left to do. It will be a slower process thats for sure. We haven't decided for sure whether we are doing pea gravel or bark dust. I like the looks of bark dust and thats what all the neighbors have, but I DON'T like the maintenance of it and the yearly expense of it to keep it looking fresh.

Popcorn & Dancing

Here is another layout that is both for a challenge at Creative Cookbooking and Citrus Tree Studio. Creative Cookbooking challenged us to use the colors black, white and gold. Nicole Stark created a fantastic sketch for her challenge at Citrus Tree.

I didn't get many pictures on Mother's Day. Here is one of Maddy and her Uncle Coco dancing!
And one of the little miss in a skirt and a hair clip. Gotta point those out to all of you who know me well. Oh and notice the pink strip in the skirt! *wink*

I've been busy working on DT projects, so make sure and check back soon as I can't share them just yet. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! We are laying sod! Exciting huh?

Poop Cookies and Pictures

This layout is for a challenge over at Creative Cookbooking AND at Citrus Tree Studio. Creative Coookbooking GDT Tara challenged to scrap about something your mom cooked for you as a child and that you now cook for your children. Citrus Tree Studio's DT Tammy challenged us to sew. Well, what else other than Poop cookies? Funny thing is, both Chris and my mom have made these FOREVER. They are really chocolate no bake cookies, but take a look at them and you see where their name came from! ;-)

I came across this fun cooking paper from Moxxie at our lss. I've also had a sketch from Stacey I've been wanting to use for a while.
This was Peytons first time helping me make cookies. He wanted to wear a hat (coffee filter) while he helped me cook. Isn't he cute?
We had a garage sale this past weekend. I caught Peyton playing in the baby stuff.....
Yep, enough said there.....
That afternoon we went out to Kah-Nee-Tah for a Chamber event. I made the mistake of not trying on my dress (*ahem* from my Junior Prom) BEFORE we went down there. Come to find out the seem in the rear of the dress was opening up. Chris to the rescue......
This past Sunday we were up at my parents house visiting for a while. My Grandpa happened to be there also. He was taken with Maddy and Maddy with him. At one point she grabbed a hold of his finger and took off for a walk. lol...

I have a fun project to share today. Its a Date Book! I used the Tag #04 - Large in heavy weight black chipboard. I am always forgetting birthdays and anniversaries. I wanted a place to write them all down to help me m remember them. I've seen this idea elsewhere and thought Creative Cuts And More Tag was PERFECT for what I wanted.
Introducing....My Book Of Dates.
A close up of the project.
A close up of the flower I made by distressing different sized circles.
Here is what the inside pages look like. I just typed them up in a word document and printed them off. I layered them on cardstock, then on patterned paper.
My papers and cardstock were from my scrap stash. I know there is a piece of Bo Bunny and of Basic Grey, but not sure what the other pieces are. The alpha stickers are by Adornit and Pink Paislee. The ribbons and pearl are unknown.
Now hop on over to Kendra's blog to see what she has in store for you!

The Window and Tim Tams

Back on National Scrapbook Day Patti at Citrus Tree Studio challenged us to create a shaped layout! I paired this up with a DT project for Creative Cuts & More.
I just adore the large scallop circle from CC&M. CC&M got a new die that I am quickly falling for too, its the small scalloped oval frame. Isn't it cute? Oh, and can't forget the flowers from CC&M too. Are you starting to notice a trend yet? Yep, I'm addicted to those die cuts. Watch out girls, once you try them, you will be heading back for more! They are SO much fun! Other products used were Basic Grey Paper, American Crafts Thickers, Adornit alphabet stickers and I can't remember who the little rub-ons were by!

When we lived in my parents basement apartment, every morning after Maddy finished her bottle she'd want to stand on the back of the couch. Here, would watch Sedona and jabber to her. This is where she said her first word, Sedona (nice huh...the first word is the dogs name...lol...). Of course Peyton always had to get in on the action cause Sister was having so much fun. I wanted to remember this and was lucky enough to capture a picture of it.

Sarah Lou posted on her blog that she was willing to trade someone Tim Tams for Peeps! She had never tried them and was curious what they were like. Well it just so happens I was curious what Tim Tams tasted like. Lindsay over at Cosmo Cricket raved about them quite a while ago and I've been curious since. As it turns out, I forgot to take a picture. Well, once I had one of those darn things they seemed to disappear! :0) Not sure who would haven eaten them all in such a short period.....*ahem* *cough* *cough* ;-) Anywho, that was a fun swap and Sarah even included some super cute scrappy goodies that made me drool!

I SO wanted to get some great pictures of Maddy in her adorable little outfit and this yellow flower Peyton got for me for my birthday! But the little stinker wouldn't cooperate.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Don't forget to stop back by Monday for the Creative Cuts and More blog hop!

Creative Cookbooking Challenge

I joined Creative Cookbooking a few weeks ago. On National Scrapbooking Day they had a weekend crop. They had an Iron Chef challenge with a secret ingredient. The winner was going to be June's GD! The challenge, to scraplift a layout done by one of the DT and the secret ingredient was chipboard.

I chose to scraplift Suzanne's Kahlua Dump Cake layout.
Here is my take on the layout:
My good friend Tammy gave me some fun new scrapbooking goodies for my birthday and I couldn't wait to use them.
I did lots of stitching and used my new border punches. I also layered a couple chipboard frames to create a flower. The bracket is also a frame cut in half.

So there you have it! And I'm excited to say that I won the Iron Chef title! Wahoo! Make sure and come check us out! It is a friendly community!
The little miss is proving to be quite independent. Well that and opinionated. lol...I had tried before but she doesn't like you showing her how to do it. I finally gave in and stripped her down and let her have at it. You can tell, she did pretty good, but I think its because she wasn't getting much on her spoon.
I normally don't feed her baby food. But I was tring to get prunes into her. lol...Any guess why? haha...She's gonna kill me some day for saying that!
Oh, and I drew a name for my give-away here. The winner is miss Paisley Petals, aka Karen! Whoot Whoot! If you could e-mail me your addy Karen, I'll get the goodies off to you soon!

A few things around the house...

First off, I apologize for the bad pictures, I've tried and tried to get better ones and am just giving up. After I picked up Peyton from preschool yesterday I stopped by a second hand store here in town that I found. My bathroom counter was driving me nuts. This is what it looked like....
I found this neat little wooden tray that had three wooden boxes with lift lids. The Dixie cups didn't fit in a box, so I removed the center box. This looks so much better. Now to find a cute little container for my jewelry.
I don't like having the toothpaste, face wash, and that sorta stuff out on the counters, but not sure what to do with it if I don't. It would annoy me to have to take it out from under the cabinet every time I wanted it, but maybe after getting used to it, I wouldn't mind. What do you do with all the bathroom clutter? At my parents house they have cabinets on both sides of the sink. That was really nice. We have double sinks here so it wouldn't work for us.
Next up is my piano! Isn't she pretty? It is the piano my mom grew up with. My mom sewed me a really pretty table runner that fits perfect on the back (I should have gotten a close up). My cousin bought me the wall piece for my birthday and I just LOVE it! Now, I have at least one corner of my house decorated! haha!
I also got this cute little shelf put up and pictures in the frames.
I plan on finding a family or love vinyl quote to put above them. Anyone able to link me up with one or have a favorite quote you want to share with me?

Thats about it for me for now. More scrappy fun coming soon! I have a couple layouts to share!
