Beads & Ribbon

Here is another layout that I had high hopes for and well, it just is another not-so-great layout I guess! haha! I got this bright idea to use ribbon and beads to create a circle, or part of a circle. After I got that part put together I just couldn't follow through with any fab ideas.

Here is a close up to show the ribbon and beads.
Maddy LOVES food, I mean this girl dives for anything she can get her little hands on. Today I gave her bananas for the second time. She's not to sure of them as you will see. Notice the cute little clip in her hair. Thats thanks to my cousin Arlinda who made it. Isn't it cute!

I sure wish I had pictures from yesterday at the pool. Maddy LOVED the water. I'll have to drag someone else with me next time so I can get pics. It went a lot better than I thought and we will definitely be going back sometime soon!
Oh, I almost forgot. Citrus Tree Studio is having some fun challenges this weekend for World Card Making Day. Make sure to check them out!

Challenge and New Cosmo Cricket

Here is a layout I did for a sketch challenge at Citrus Tree Studio. I'm not overly happy with it. Something about the journaling spot and title seem off. Oh, well, we all have those right? I hope I'm not the only person out there that has layouts they aren't overly happy with! Peyton LOVES to give Maddy kisses. To this day he gives her kisses almost by the hour!

Also, have you checked out the Cosmo Cricket Blog today? They are showing their new line called Nutmeg! I think it is absolutely ADORABLE. Somehow I must get my hands on this line!
We are headed to the pool shortly. Wish me luck as I'm taking both kids by myself for the first (possibly last...haha!) time! Peyton is dying to go, he can't wait to go see his little friend we are meeting there! Here is a picture of him waiting by the door even though its not for an hour. Like his boots? Yeah, he thinks they are his and thinks he is going to wear them to the pool!

Maddy at 8 Months

Maddy turned 8 months yesterday! Here she is with her teddy I have been taking her monthly pictures next to showing her growth.

  • She weights 22 pounds.
  • She is log rolling all over the place (I now need to buy a bunch of pillows to pad the fireplace...the first thing she rolled too).
  • She sits up pretty well, that is until her brother tackles her.
  • She grabs at anything she can, ESPECIALLY if it is food!
  • She loves to eat, anything and everything we will give her.
  • She is a lot more content and doesn't mind being in her carseat or the stroller.

Madeline Mini

I am so excited with how this mini came out! I opted to not fill it with pictures yet. I want it to have pictures from her first year. This album is the 8x8 Mini Album Set. The covers are in Acetate and the pages are in chipboard. Most of the papers and some die-cuts and rub-ons are by Crate Paper.

The page on the right looks kinda odd, but its made for at least two picures.

If you made it through all those pictures, thanks! I had a lot of fun with this mini and have a feeling I'll be doing quite a few more! Its was a great size and I loved the tabs!

2 Sketches 4 You

2 Sketches 4 You has a fantastic sketch this week. I watch this blog and often save the sketches for future use. Rarely do I get a chance to use it right away. I, however, was able to do that this week. Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch using a Coffin Box from Creative Cuts & More.

I thought I would fill it with Candy.
Check back soon as I have a really fun mini I just finished to share with you! Here is a sneak peek of it!

Monochromatic Challenge

Tammy's Challenge this month at Citrus Tree was to do a monochromatic layout! I struggle with these as I always want to add another color! Here is my layout for that challenge. It was fun picking out scraps and digging through other peoples scraps (Thanks Teri). I'm not sure whats gotten into me, but I have pulled out my beads and wire and used them on this layout and on another layout I am working on! I should have taken a close up, but the butterfly is a Prima flower with beads and wire as the body and antennas.

Maddy received this cute dress as a gift. Its SO cute on her! I think I am going to take her in to get professional photos with her quilt my mom made and that dress. I just love the combo of it! She WOULD NOT cooperate with me when I tried to get pictures!

I have a mini album I made that I really want to share with you. I just have a few small things left to do. Anyone else have projects they almost get done and then lack motivation to take the 10 minutes to finish them?

Fridays...

I'm starting to really like my Friday mornings. We go garage saling and then go to the park and meet up with a couple of my friends who have little kiddos. We are very lucky to have a fantastic park right across the street. We use the nice walking trail almost every morning. The park there is great too! The kids have SO much fun!

Here is a layout I almost forgot to post. This was the cutest darn jacket. I had to get pcitures and scrap them. It was ssssooo soft! I scraplifted a layout I saw a while back in a Scrapbook Etc. Magazine!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am almost finished with a mini using a album from Creative Cuts & More that I can't wait to share! I also have some really cute pics of the kiddos that I need to upload and share!

Catch of My Life

I'm always looking for something to make for Chris. Men are so much harder to make things for. In my last box of goodies I received from Creative Cuts & More I received this cute Creel Box.

I used mostly Cosmo Cricket (My fave scrapbook company) papers. The fishing pole is from a scrap I've been holding onto. CC&M (Creative Cuts & More) have so many fun boxes and bag die cuts to choose from. You can order them in velvet, metallic, bling, acetate, textured and smooth cardstock! They come un-folded. I use Killer Red Tacky Tape to tape the box together. If you haven't used Killer Red Tacky Tape, give it a try, it is fantastic!
I hand wrote "You are the catch of my life" on it and filled it with Sweedish Fish (one of his favorite candies) and the kids and I delivered it to him at work.

Layout of Maddy and Jackson

I am horrible at coming up with titles for my post and honestly don't really care to much about them! How bad is that?
I have really been liking 52 Sketches...52 Weeks sketches lately. They have been fantastic! I just wish I had more time to create them the week they are given! I used a sketch from last week or the week before for this layout and am really happy with out it turned out. Thanks Suzanne, for the adorable bling butterfly! I had Maddy's birth announcement and these papers sitting out waiting for an idea and knew the butterfly would be perfect and it was!
Peyton LOVES to play with Uncle Adams dog Jackson. He calls Jackson his cousin...lol. Jackson is such a great dog and I keep trying to get Adam to trade me for Sedona (our yellow lab who doesn't quite get fetch, doesn't like water and won't jump into the back of a truck). But he isn't quite going for it yet! Wonder why?

Door Sign

My mom is a Elementary School Reading Teacher. I make signs for her door for every season. In the past I have made ones in a print-shop sorta program. I had these wonderful die cuts from Creative Cuts & More (the leaves and pumpkin) and thought it would be a lot more fun to play with paper and make her one scrapbook style! We have a good cloud coverage today so the colors came out kinda funky. The yellow is a deeper more burnt yellow, the green is a deeper green not a turquoisy green that shows here. And for some reason, I can't seem to take a straight picture lately to save my live! So my apologies for a horrible picture.

Simple layouts and more pics!

During my scrappy time I had on Sunday I was able to complete a couple layouts for my Mother-in-law! We owe my in-laws big time, they kept the kiddos for us while we were in Vegas. I thought I'd make a few layouts to add to her album.

The diecut frame and flowers came from Creative Cuts & More.

I need to buy more Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy, I just love this line!

Peyton is just the sweetest big brother EVER!

I was in a simple mode while scrapping, but sometimes I still like the simple look!

Maddy has been eating rice cereal and veggies for a while now. I'm telling you this girl can eat! lol...Often she has her mouth open before I can get another spoonful ready! And no worries, she is more than happy to tell you when she is ready to eat! haha! If you are holding her in your lap and have a plate of food in front of you, beware, she will attack your plate and food in a matter of seconds!

Oh and Suzanne - you asked for a tutorial...I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro. There is an option in the toolbar titled 'Text'. Click on it and then 'Insert Text'. Easy as that! There are probably a handful of programs out there that you can insert text, I just happen to have the Microsoft Digital Image one.
